There isn't even a law that states you have to say the pledge of allegiance. If a you just stood there and mumbled "one nation under big intrusive government" or whatever else it is you worship odds are no one would notice you.

That's where you're wrong. The Department of Homeland Security contracted my company to install hidden microphones and cameras in all US schools to monitor what students are saying and doing. Admittedly it was kind of expensive, but we found the cash by eliminating the school lunch program. After all, when it comes to national security, no expense is too great.
