Dear Friends,
When I first heard that Biden had told a crowd of blacks that “They’re going to put y’all back in chains” if Romeny wins, my immediate reaction was outrage. Who told Biden? We need to clamp down on the loose lips around here!
That said, I was amused and puzzled by the media firestorm that erupted. Reporters were acting as though this was the first time Biden had ever said anything like this. So, in the interests of fair and balanced reporting, here are a few of Joe's other choice remarks from the campaign trail you won't hear anywhere else:
"It is my privilege to be a part of the Obama administration. Some people say Barack is the first black president, but it's also true that his mother was white. He's more of a high yaller president -- for a high yaller country -- and with your help, we're going to make it higher and more yaller all the time!" -- Feb. 20, 2012, speech to Detroit Progressive Minister's Caucus.
"The other guys are about fear, and division, and hate. We're about hope for America, and bringing people together, and love against all odds. Like the unlikely but undeniably erotic love between Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry in MONSTER'S BALL. Man, Halle Berry -- and I hope I don't get in trouble with Jill for saying so -- there's one brown mound I'd love to pound." -- Mar. 10, 2012, AFL-CIO fundraising event.
"President Obama's economic policies will bring about sustainable growth in America. Or, to put it in terms our soul brothers might better understand" -- singing -- "his milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, that's right, it's better than yours, damn right, it's better than yours, he can teach you, but he'd have to char...excuse me..." *stumbles to corner, retches on Paul Krugman's shoes* -- April 12, 2012, debate at Club for Growth.
"The only things black people can do for me is run my country and shine my shoes." -- disputed comment to Washington Post reporter.
"Black people want just three things -- tight pussy, loose shoes, and a return to a tax system where the rich pay their fair share. Oh, and a warm place to shit, so four things." -- June 1, 2012, address to middle school, Norfolk, Virginia.
"I say, I say, Kingfisher!" -- unsourced, video of Biden in blackface in possession of the author.
...and I'm sure there's more where that came from.
Yours in Him,
