I, like many Americans, was absolutely heart-stricken by the recent tragic events that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary. But, the really sad part was knowing how this was all so preventable. We had a monster come in on INNOCENT UNARMED first-graders and slaughter them wholesale. But, what if those six-year olds were ARMED? What if all those first-graders brought their own Glocks and Sig Sauers and AR-15s and M4s to school? I DON'T THINK THIS WOULD HAPPEN!

Imagine if this coward, ATHEIST, Obama-supporting scum bursted into a First Grade class to see a bunch of Six Year Olds pointing Automatic weapons at him. Before he could declare "I kill you in the name of Obama's Caliphate!" he would be struck down by a hail of bullets from thirty automatic weapons tearing into his Jesus-hating liberal body six hundred bullets per minute.

Wouldn't that make you feel safer? Wouldn't you feel that your children could safely go to school knowing that guns are EVERYWHERE? The students, the teachers, the principals, the janitors? All knowing that everyone had guns?

As a grandfather, I do not feels safe knowing my 5 year old kindergartner granddaughter cannot carry a semi-automatic AR-15 to school to protect her. We need to stand up for FREEDOM and LIBERTY and show these terrorists who is boss.

It's just common sense, Rev Osborne.

Firearms, bullet proof vests and 2 days survival rations should be standard issue for school children. Plus armed (private) security in every classroom and a reinforced concrete perimeter fence to stop trucks loaded with explosives from driving up to the school. There's a case to be made for Iron Dome but lets at least get the basics right first.

*sigh* Yet another one who doesn't understand.

Back then, only the right hand was used for touching others. The left (as is still common in many countries) was used for toilet purposes. If I was to strike you on the right cheek using my right hand, it would have to be a backhand strike. This was the disciplinary method used on slaves and servants, and showed the the striker considered the other to be below them, socially.

By only presenting the left cheek as a target, you would force me to use a forehand strike, with the concomitant acknowledgement of you as my social equal.

Thus, we see that the "turn the other cheek" passage is NOT an instruction to yield unconditionally to any aggressor (as it has been portrayed by many, who either do not understand, or consciously wish to misrepresent, the message of the Bible), but instead is a passive-aggressive way of forcing them to treat you as an equal.

And it still doesn't mean "give away your weapons".

So are you going to shut up, read moar and learn a whole lot about what True Christianity™ really is, or continue showing just how ignorant you are? The choice is yours.

Friend, I genuinely feel sorry for you, because you seem to be more educated than most of the hateful nonbelievers that usually wander in here off of the godless internets.

So, either you're confused about what it means, or you're saying that billions of people have followed a self-contradictory set of instructions for obtaining salvation for thousands of years.

When I propose this idea to Democrats I've heard some Democrats say things like "Well, if we gave children automatic weapons, the children might fire at each other causing more school shootings." This is complete and utter nonsense. What child would fire into a classroom knowing there are dozens of other armed people standing around them? They'd be shot up in seconds, it'd be suicide. No child would take a risk like that. Except maybe a Muslim terrorist child. Which is probably why we should limit access to these guns to Christian children, or at least filter out Muslim terrorist trash. Besides that, if anything the Bible indicates that adults should be more like children, and while not completely innocent, children are still closer than most adults Matthew 18:3.

So if anything, giving guns to children is the safest thing we could do. In fact, I would go a step further, instead of just arming the children, we should pay children to be armed guards outside of the school instead of adults. Due to unions and such it is so expensive to hire adults. This would give children a great experience of capitalism, limit their access inside sinful public classrooms (since they would be too busy guarding the school), and since they would be armed, I can't think of a safer job (other than perhaps being a police officer or being in the military since they get backup and stronger weapons, but that's a topic for another time).
