  • Dick's Queer Daughter Runs For Senate

Well I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, even if it is a damned lezbean.

Liz Cheney Running For Senate Seat

Former Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter Liz Cheney will run against her fellow Republican, senior Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi, in next year's primary election.

Cheney, who plans to formally announce her Senate bid at a Wednesday press conference, described her conservative agenda and criticized President Obama's policies in a video released online by her campaign.

"President Obama has launched a war on our Second Amendment rights, he's launched a war on our religious freedom, he's used the IRS to launch a war on our freedom of speech and he's used the EPA to launch a war on Wyoming's ranchers, our farmers and our energy industry,'' she said.

Cheney's plans to run against Enzi has been an open secret for months. Her announcement is a political challenge unlike anything Wyoming has seen for years, maybe decades -- Republicans in the state rarely challenge incumbents in national office.

Enzi, apparently armed with the knowledge Cheney's announcement was imminent, also announced Tuesday he will seek a fourth term. Enzi made the announcement six months earlier than he has in the past, but says he will continue to "do the job I was already elected to do."

"Working behind the scenes -- this is what I have been doing since I was elected and this is what needs to be done," he said by email through his spokesman.

Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., who is the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, says the group plans to back Enzi in 2014 and Republican senators will stand behind their colleague.

Rep. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., also spoke out in support of Enzi, saying she doesn't believe Cheney is going about her candidacy "in the right way."

"(Cheney) will out-raise (Enzi) by factors of ten or more and he will still win," Lummis said.

Enzi takes pride in keeping a lower profile and remaining much less partisan than most of his colleagues. He often refers to his "80-20" rule -- that opposing parties usually can agree on 80 percent of the details of any given issue -- as a model for Republicans and Democrats to work together.

He handily won re-election in 2008 with more than 75 percent of the vote.

Chris Rothfuss, Enzi's Democratic challenger in that election, also spoke out in support of Enzi, saying Cheney's challenge reflects "everything that's wrong" with partisanship in national politics.

"Mike's being attacked in this election because he's been traditionally willing to compromise and reach across the aisle in a manner that's unpopular with the partisan culture," he said.

"I would also say that the reason that Liz Cheney is running out of Wyoming rather than what in effect would be her home state of Virginia is because we're basically seen as a much cheaper option in trying to obtain a Senate seat. Obviously, it's an attempt to leverage her name recognition," said Rothfuss.

Alan K. Simpson, a former U.S. Senator from Wyoming and a longtime observer of state politics, said Tuesday he couldn't comment on what the race would mean for the Wyoming Republican Party.

"Right now, I have nothing to say at all except one thing, I deeply care about both of them, and that's all I have to say," Simpson said of Enzi and Cheney.

Enzi, a former state legislator and mayor of Gillette, was first elected to the Senate in 1996.

I have never believed that Liz Cheney is really a lesbian. If she is, she only chose to be gay so that later she could chose not to be and lead all the other dykes to salvation. Godly Ted Haggared tried the same thing and I think it worked out pretty well for him.

I am just going to let Bryan Fischer of AFA explain how I feel about the rug licking RINO.

        His Blog

Liz Cheney has declared her intention to run against Mike Enzi in the Republican primary for Enzi’s senate seat in Wyoming. Given the overwhelming registration advantage Republicans have in Wyoming, the primary will be the de facto general election.
Enzi doesn’t excite conservatives. He’s not a fighter, and assiduously avoids talk shows so he won’t have to criticize feckless colleagues on either side of the aisle. He has just a 67% rating on the Heritage scorecard, so he clearly leaves much to be desired.
But at least he recently voted against ENDA, the bill that will shred what is left of the First Amendment for values-driven business owners and subject them to career- and business-ending lawsuits every time they make personnel decisions based on their most deeply held and constitutionally-protected values.
(ENDA, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, provides special workplace protections for those who engage in sexually aberrant behavior, and authorizes legal action against any employer who takes such behavior into account in hiring and firing.)
Liz Cheney, in contrast to Enzi, lights a fire under many conservatives, particularly on national defense and foreign policy issues. She’s a fighter, like her father. The apricot has not fallen far from the tree.
The massive problem is that on values issues, which matter most right now for America’s future, she will fight for the team wearing lavender instead of the team wearing red, white and blue.
In 2009, she inartfully dodged two attempts to press her to declare her position on sodomy-based marriage, which in the end means just one thing: she’s for it.
Although I’m not aware that she has declared a position on ENDA, in 2009 she supported the State Department’s decision, in flagrant violation of DOMA, the law of the land at the time, to extend benefits to same-sex partners.
Said Ms. Cheney, “I think it’s wrong to discriminate, in those relationships, based on someone’s sexual preference.” Homosexual activists prefer her to Enzi for the sole reason that she just might be a “sleeper vote for LGBT rights.”
She supported the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, which is driving values-based members of the military out of the service and ushering in militant homosexuals. Currently, 55-60% of all sexual assaults in the military now, thanks in part to the DADT repeal, are committed by homosexuals.
Liz Cheney will be an undeniably appealing candidate, and conservatives will be tempted to turn a blind eye toward her support for the deviancy cabal. But we do so not only at our peril but at the peril of the future of our country.
George Washington famously said, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness.”
The bottom line: Liz Cheney is not, under Washington’s definition, a patriot. She will throw her weight behind those who are placing improvised explosive devices beneath both of Washington’s indispensable pillars. When the roof collapses on us all, those who supported Liz Cheney will be partly to blame.
