As you all know, this old lady is still finding her way throughout the World Wide Web, so pardon my silliness with this question, LOL.

I chatted with my grandbaby Haylee the other day, trying to persuade her to sign up to the good ole Landover Forums. She asked me if it was a "Chat Website". When I inquired more about what a "Chat" was, she told me it was a place with live talking Online. Upon furthering our conversation, she filled me in on the difference between a chat and a forum.

So, I wanted to ask. Does Landover have a live "Chat"? And, if not, would it be possible to get one of those things going on this Forum? I would LOVE to chat with the other ladies about recipes live. I also know that Franklin would love a medium on which I could quickly ask for a recipe if I'm out of a certain ingredient for a dinner I have planned.

Of course, I would hope it would be restricted to True Christians, or at least Forum Members such as myself. We would not want the unsaved heathens participating.

I pray for you all to fill an old gal like myself in on what I may have been missing out on! LOL.

Dearest Pearl,

I am not totally sure what this young person is suggesting. As far as I know, I am still unfortunately alive although hopeful that this state will be transitory and Jesus will soon accept me. Jesus is also alive, so my constant communication with Him would count as 'live chat', wouldn't it!

I sincerely hope this 'live chat' is not some kind of séance that communicates with unclean spirits? However, if it is just a more speedy form of interaction, it gets my provisional support, as my wife is a hopeless cook and any improvement in her culinary skills would be welcome. Her cuisine is only slightly better than the obligatory monthly sessions during which our marital duties are fulfilled.


This is a séance. If I were a manly man I'd ban this once and for all. It is fearsome!

I believe that the man sitting second from the right is the famous Hollywood movie star George Clooney. Mr. Clooney and his entire entourage seem to be in costume and disguise. This could be a meeting of the Hollywood/Homosexual/Democrat agenda.

My GOODNESS! That picture scared me so badly, I ran to wake Franklin (more of a hobble though, these legs are not what they used to be, LOL).

He reminded me of Deuteronomy 31:6, so I calmed down.

I am most confident that my grandbaby was not talking about that sort of thing...I believe it was the other thing that was mentioned. A real-time chat??? I can not think of the exact wording, and I only read it a few minutes ago!! Don't ever get old, kids!!

When I researched a "Chat" feature, there was talk on some website about "HTML", which I can only imagine is short for Hotmail. Franklin and I both use AOL for our electronic mail, so I guess that will not work.

You mean one of those chat rooms where 52 year old balding men pretend to be curiously buxom Asian teens wanting to experiment with BDSM for the first time with an experienced older man? Or maybe a similar one where someone pretends the same thing, only when you arrange to meet at a motel you find some guy named Hansen and a camera crew instead of the girl?

I don't think anybody here would be interested in sick, twisted games like that.

I don't like the sound of h*tmail either. What's wrong with a pen and paper? And since around here anyone looking for latex bondage queens just needs to don their lurex hotpants and walk to the nearest public house, I really can't see the need for pretence such as brother Des outlined. Such is the mind warped by secularism, so entrenched in double standards that even lying straight in bed becomes an impossibility!

Franklin, seems your wife is gabbing again.
Chat is just a way for peoples words to be read and gone in an instance, like a toilet paper square. LBC is forever, ever single word, entrusted with Gods Stamp of Approval™.
Could you imagine if God had used chat instead of the stone tablets for Moses? Why, no person would ever know what god wanted. It would all be hearsay and vague recollections of 'what he really meant'.
No, chat is the sound of chickens in the kitchen and women an the hen house, being a a bunch of silly cluckers.

Pearl, dear, I think Brother Des explained it extremely well - men have a talent for explaining - though perhaps he didn't put it in appropriate terms for us ladies.

The thing is, and you may have misunderstood this, in a "live chat room" people aren't really chatting - not the way that you and I chat on the phone. On the phone I can hear your voice and know it's really you. But in a chat room, you only have the written word. So you might, for example, think you are talking in confidence to Dr Niles and so accidentally share some very intimate details with, for example, a 20-something-year-old male prevert. Or, worse, with some scary lesbo!

We don't have this problem on these Godly forums thanks to the DoF and our hard-working moderators. But it would be too much of an imposition to ask them to moderate every live chat.

Please, I beg you, warn Haylee about this. I hate to think of an innocent young woman being led astray.
