  • Time to stop watching soccer

As if you needed any more reasons not to watch men in colored outfits playing footsie, Fifa president, Gianni Infantino, has given you 7.

In an 57-minute diatribe which frequently drew gasps of astonishment, Infantino claimed that western nations were in no position to give morality lessons to Qatar given their past and current behaviour.

“Today I feel Qatari,” he said. “Today I feel Arabic. Today I feel African. Today I feel gay. Today I feel disabled. Today I feel [like] a migrant worker... I feel like a woman too!”

"If someone thinks that hammering and criticising will achieve something, well I can tell you it will be exactly the opposite. It will close more doors.”

“I think for what we Europeans have been doing the last 3,000 years we should be apologising for the next 3,000 years before starting to give moral lessons to people.”
I certainly won't condone Infantino's lifestyle choices, but what really crosses the line is his lack of principles. If we Christians cannot give morality lessons to backward Italians (and their Qataristani paymasters) then what is the point of being Christian? It's an attack on our religious integrity. I'm sure the Emir of Qatar would agree as he banned the reprobate Europeans from drinking alcohol.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

Poor Gianni Infantino - which translates into American as Little Baby Johnny (such a very embarrassing name for a middle-aged man!) - must know that the chances of him ever getting a woman are slightly below zero. He might have more success getting a migrant worker, I suppose?

I understand that Qatari tourists are now complaining that in downtown Geneva, they are not permitted to put their wives to death or behead their servants for providing an imperfectly boiled breakfast egg.

When Congress reconvenes, with Republicans controlling the House, I think we will see this kind of talk censored in the U.S. It is terrible that children might hear such anti-Christian garbage.

I am a little confused by this statement:

“I think for what we Europeans have been doing the last 3,000 years we should be apologising for the next 3,000 years before starting to give moral lessons to people.”

Did the nation of Qatar even exist 3,000 years ago? If not, then how are Europeans in the wrong for having criticized it?

Is he suggesting the Christians were rendering moral judgments against Muslim nations 3,000 years ago? Neither religion existed back then.

To the best of my knowledge, Europeans were living in mud huts 3,000 years ago and waging small scale skirmishes against the collection of mud huts a little further down the mud trail. During that same time period, Middle Eastern peoples had stone cities and were engaged in much larger scale warfare against other nation-states.

With that in mind I have to ask, what does Europe have to apologize for regarding Qatar?

Sister, it is ambiguous, much like the funding behind a World Cup in Qatar.

From the context I would hazard to guess that imposing our imperialist western sports on the cultured Qataris, who would rather be racing camels and raping boys (or vice versa), is personally offensive to him. Or perhaps he is speaking on behalf of all Italians.

Is Jared Kushner a european? He owes them money, I hear.

Why, today I felt gay so I lisped and minced and wore a dress. The day before that I felt like an African, so I blacked up and smoked cigarillos in the alley behind a pawn shop. Tomorrow I think I'll feel like a red Injun, so I'm planning on wearing a feather and throwing tommyhawks at 'coons.

I'm kidding, of course. I'm a white man and because God made me this way that's what I am and what I feel like. I'm not mentally ill like Rachel Dolezal or Ellen Page.
I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore,
            Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the Sea heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I!

I see Donald Trump at major sporting events like football and baseball. These are places to be seen and be identified with manly sports and sporting events. So far as I know, Donald Trump has never attended a soccer match.

The rest of us, his fans, should take note.

Heh heh, Mr. Lukes that's a good one. The real joke is liberals who are so permissive they believe some Italian Sheik that's fretting about "protecting his heritage" (what a joke!) meanwhile back home they're destroying confederate statues and erasing the heritage of the White man like cancer. They're bringing Sharia to this country, I tell you.

I like sports where players are carried off the field on stretchers. Without that it's just a girly sport. I've heard soccer players get injured once in a while, but U.S. football has small hospitals on the sidelines. That's a sport for real men.

Yes, well there's no points for stating the obvious about the Scotch...

Another aspect of the so-called "world" (somehow which does not involve 2 American teams playing against eachother) cup that has been in the news is the Japanese fans cleaning up the stadium after the match. Undoubted more interesting to watch, but I don't follow cleaning. Perhaps one of the ladies, or a motel owner, can comment on their work. For my money, Mexicans do a better job at yard work but in the house you want Philipinos. Are they asian...? If so, Asians in the house, Mexicans outside the house.

Probably more interesting to participate in as well - I see the Nipponese players cleaned up their locker-room too, and left some origami swans for their hosts.

I wonder whether this is a recent thing. Did they, for example, parachute down with armloads of plastic bags and clear up the mess at Pearl Harbor?

If an invasion by the Imperialist Japanese has any upside it's their fastidious cleanliness. And they would know how to make trains run on time too, I would imagine.
