  • Is it time to set aside the New Testament?

It's been on my mind a lot recently how so much of the New Testament opposes our core beliefs in the Old Testament. I'm sure Jesus meant well, but the 2024 elections have kind off shown Him to be a false profit. The people demand righteous vengeance and all the talk about loving thy neighbor and forgiving blah blah blah just doesn't cut it. I'm looking for scriptural assurance that my sincere and deeply held beliefs are correct.

I appreciate everything He has done for us thus far, getting all the poor on board lol. But I don't know... maybe I just need a more perfect understanding of His intentions repealing the Old Law. I'm going to pray to the Father about what He might do with a wayward Son.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

Thank you for bringing this up, Dr. Toole. There is a lot to consider. Jesus had memorized the Old Testament. It seems to me He his sermons in the Bible were meant to provide discernment. It is yes, love and forgive your neighbor. But His message in the Temple was Old Testament, the bullwhip. When it comes to liberals, atheists, Catholics, Hindus and Muslims Jesus meant for us to practice the Old Testament, the bullwhip and vengeance is mine.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

These are all essentially the same thing. From the perspective of God's commandments—whether one agrees with them or not, whether one likes them or not, whether or not one knows what they even are—the embodiment of all He finds most repugnant is foremost in them all. As for liberals, atheists, tree huggers and the like, they're acknowledged by God as existing: languishing in groves of trees Deuteronomy 16:21; denying God outright Psalm 53:1; pursuing every crackpot idea invented by men Ecclesiastes 2:3.

      Acknowledged — but not approved.

No activity is so roundly condemned as making statues. Carved, cast, engraved statues of wood, metal, stone ACCORDING TO GOD are abominations. Making them at all is prohibited. Bowing or adoring or muttering in their presence is a form of prostitution, He explains. Tree-huggers have trees, crystal gurus have crystals and crackpots have energies (whatever they are) with other groups having The Moon (possibly a solar eclipse) or Human figures (male & female) and Creatures or other objects (such as a cross) which disgust God.

      Deuteronomy 4:15-19

The New Testament is where we read how Jesus will deal with this. Everyone not accepting His Perfect Love will be killed off by various means, war, drowning, fire, birds and so on leaving no trace. The Bible explains how no suns are necessary to provide light and that there'll be no more sea. Without this knowledge, what reassurance is there for Christians given God's instruction to comply with laws?

I Peter 2:13-16 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: as free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

Revelation 1:18-19; 8:7-9; 9:17-20 [Jesus speaking] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter . . . The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; and the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed . . . And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk

Christianity without The New Testament would be bleak and dismal indeed.

      Thank you Jesus.
