I believe the Lord "visited" me this week

I want to share a most positive experience that happened to me this week, and it is my opinion that the events were facilitated and coordinated by the good Lord himself.

As I wrote in my other threads, I was asking what I may do for fun. This week I was reconnected with a former co-worker. (I received an email notification asking that he be added to my network). Since it had been quite some time since we spoke, we made plans to meet.

I met him at a local "car" show. They call it a show, but really it is more like a social gathering. It was a nice place to enjoy a brat and reminisce, while enjoying fine automobiles (this week there was a Pierce Arrow, Cadillac V16, and a Studebaker.)

Since I enjoyed the automobiles, he invited me to the local dragstrip the next night. It was exhilarating. (There was a front engined dragster with a blown Hemi - when he fired that bad boy up, alarms went off in the lot. It was ecstasy) I was able to rip off a 15.88 @ 91. Not bad for being the first time. (Published rating is 15.1 @ 94 - I hope to get in the mid 15s the next time I go. I just have to work on my shift times.)

Finally, he took me to Road America to watch the Ferrari club race around the track. It, too, was exhilarating. Hearing Ferraris at WOT is something that should be experienced in one's lifetime. Nothing compares. Apparently other car clubs have similar events. I will join one club so I may participate in such wonderful events.

On our way back from the track, I explained to him some of the recent experiences I had, including joining this forum.

Just as he has exposed me to this wonderful new world, I too, hope to expose him to this world.

This must have been the Lord's work. After such time to be reconnected with a friend, and exposed to such wonderful and wholesome events. Only the Lord is capable of such work.

I would not say it was a "hot" date per se.

An old friend of mine "found" me and we got to spend time together. I got to experience something new (racing).

I believe the Lord had a hand in us getting reconnected.

I didn't hear any mention of the two of you Praying together, or reading Scripture.

Can we assume that the two of you are of the opposite gender at least?
        Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

Well, sir, I really did not ask him about his beliefs at the time. Rather I explained to him what I believed in and where I was headed.

I will make my best efforts to get him on the right path.

So, basically this had not a thing to do with a prayer answered, nor with praising Jesus. You had fun. And from this, you conclude that the Lord "visited" you?

I think you're trying to mock the Lord.

"Empty head girl goes on a date and gets all giggly. Update at 11."
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
