    The Hobby Corner

As some of you may know, I am an avid hobbyist. In my limited spare time after Landover Baptist Church services, Landover Baptist Bible Study on Monday and Wednesday nights, attending to my business concerns, and my responsibilities on the Board of Directors of Landover Baptist University's Worthington Graduate School of Business, I enjoy several hobbies. I like to build and fly motorized model airplanes, I handcraft my own picture frames from exotic hardwoods, and I enjoy hunting (primarily deer, quail, and fox).

My wife Delores collects antique cookie jars, knits ski masks (dozens and dozens of them!), and plays contract bridge. Delores plays the spinnet organ, and I play banjo; we enjoy playing and singing our favorite hymns.

Does anyone else have a hobby?

I can play the ocarina. It's a type of flute. I also write poems, and I like reading, and learning.

I enjoy gardening, especially roses. I also enjoy singing and playing the piano. Maybe LBC could produce a recording of members' favorite hymns.
5 O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. 6 A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this. 7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: 8 But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
      Psalm 92:5-8

In my basement, I have quite the well-outfitted woodworking shop. I like to build Witnessing Furniture, and trade it with neighbors for other crafts.

For example, a set of stocks can be traded for a full set of wall-shackles, produced by the blacksmith across town. Even trade.

A rack? Well, what that fetches depends on how detailed you like it. My latest had intricate carvings inspired by the Spanish Inquisition. I sold it on eBay for a sum I am too modest to disclose.

(Of course, pastors will know because 10% of it came to Landover in my Bonus Tithe!)

I also make little items, like thumbscrews. Those I trade for something small, such as a few nice potholders or hand-made torches for bonfire-lighting and mob-illumination. Those are handy during the annual Witch Hunt.

I enjoy hunting, as well! I use guns and also a compound bow for adventures in the forest. Once in a while, I hunt at the Freehold Fashion Mall, using a blowgun and curare-tipped darts.

You should come see my trophy room, Brother Worthington! I have nearly a dozen Goth heads mounted. I'm shooting <ahem> for their favorite number, 13.

May I thank you once again for the reference to that taxidermist. He does such wonderful work. Looking upon their contorted faces, I can almost hear their tortured cries of anguish as they burn in eternal hellfire!

Finally, I've got a lovely garden filled with all manner of plants; roses, daisies, azaleas, lavender, lilacs, any kind of flower you might like. They're very well-fertilized -- organically, of course -- and grow up all bushy and vibrant, with blooms everywhere. For some reason, though, everything blooms blood red. And last week, Rosa tripped over a hand poking out from beneath a rosebush (she said it grabbed her ankle, silly girl). We had to replace the gardener after that little incident.

But the new gardener planted a delightful herb garden in the former gardener's honor! Well, more of a Herb garden, if you catch my drift!

Well, as is well-known, I am a great advocate of godly spankings. As such, I have developed an interest in collecting spanking and paddling implements. I have assembled quite a few pieces over the years. If any of the sisters would like to see my collection up close, feel free to drop by after 11pm any weeknight, or by appointment.

Some of these were custom made for me. Some were family heirlooms. A couple were actually hand made by my grandfather. Ah, the memories....

Did you find a good gardener?

I find that the right gardener makes all the difference. Don't get one with too much fat on him, the plants don't like that. Be sure he takes plenty of mineral supplements.

Have him drug tested, to be sure he doesn't use too many chemicals, as they can damage your plants. For example, if he drinks a lot or uses crystal meth, the plants can be stunted or even die!
