Last night my wife Delores and I were enjoying a fine meal, and instead of a baked potato, she served rice. It was delicious.
I said, "Mommie Do-Do (that's my nickname for Delores), who made this fine rice?"
And she whispered timidly, "Master (that's her pet name for me), begging your indulgence, it was Uncle Ben."
"Well," I said, grabbing her firmly by the collar and gently pushing her into the pantry, "show me this rice!"
Needless to say, I was surprised to see an aging Nigra houseboy on the package. Delores screamed, "Please don't, Master, please don't hurt me!!" as she collapsed to the floor of the pantry shielding her head, but I told her that I wasn't going to beat her because she "done good." And she dried her tears and apologized again for being a terrible nuisance and a discredit to the family.
We enjoyed dessert, she cleared the table, and we played Jenga late into the night. All in all, a delightful evening for all concerned.
