    A jolly swag man is a person who lived of the bush and went around looking for work. Generally a working traveller back in the depression days. His swag being his bedding and a tent most of the times with a few bits and pieces like his iron pot to cook stuff in, and that was about that really for these guys that travelled all over the place.
