Do YOU have a cat in your house?

Well, I would just like to point out that cats are not once mentioned in the Bible. This of course doesn't mean God hates cats, or you should go out and drown your cats immediately for being hateful beasts. However, I think people should remember that they are letting a creature unmentioned by God prance around their houses when they get a cat. That can't be a good thing.

To play it safe, I would suggest get a Dog.

There are couple of LoL here who are proud owners of cats. Sure, the beasts are destined for Hell cause God only needs white horses in Heaven, but everyone knows THAT!

Coca-Cola isn't mentioned in the Holy Bible either, but I can't imagine doing without that. I go through a case a day, pal. I seriously love that stuff. Cats are Egyptian. So are the Plagues of Egypt (of which thou wast afraid).

However, the Lord God made all living things exactly as they should be, including cats.

Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. Acts 11:6-9

So one may hold that to the Lord a pussy-cat (a four-footed beast of the Earth) is indeed cleansed.

Much the same situation obtains in Deuteronomy when the Lord wishes to curse mankind with disease. Rather than listing out the tools of His loving vengeance as tuberculosis, cholera, schistosomiasis, dengue fever, and so forth, the Lord instead says "Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed."

The Lord, knowing in advance every detail of microbiology, pathology, and medical biology, nevertheless stuck in His eternal Word to concepts consistent with the knowledge of bronze-age goatherds. Thus do we know His wisdom!

Yeah the eating rules were really cleared up later on when God told us that anything could be eaten.

What's been mentioned in this thread so far though have been examples of modern things that God probably approves of, yet cats are not modern....

The thing is: many cats live in peoples houses. If you are going to sleep with a turkey nestling at the bottom of your bed, I'd have other worries for you.

Witnessing a cat on the street does not mean you have to drown it, as I said. As with any other animal.

Many forget the Black Death (Bubonic Plague) in the 14th Century. The cathylicks demonized, persecuted and killed cats which lead to an increase in the rat population (which carried the plague through fleas). The plague wiped out a significant percentage of the European population (mainly cathylicks).

No no no. I'm not saying we go out and kill cats... i'm just raising concern about letting them prance around your homes, around your children, wife, etc. when they are unmentioned by the Lord.
