What about a band called Switchfoot? They say that they are a Christian rock band, and while looking at the lyrics of their songs it seems like that is the case. Unless they are using very complex lyrical meanings that is to complicated for me.

Anyway, just wanted to know what everyone thought on here. Here's one of their songs.

I'm pretty sure you are the same dumb kid who insisted that Salvation™ was by faith alone. If that's true, you don't need to go to church.

Yet.....if you are going to church, and helping others understand the Bible as well as you don't understand it, that would be a good work. Except that you are teaching the wrong thing.

Exactly. The Good Samaritan was the man's neighbor, because he showed mercy. The Jews who strolled by and ignored him were NOT his neighbor.

Therefore, as Pastor Pistle attempted to point out to you, not EVERYBODY is the neighbor we are commanded to love.

We like to quote scripture here, not just refer to it. Not just for our own understanding, but for the other people who visit here who might not know God's Word, and could learn something.

No, christian rock is not the only thing I think about. I'm sorry if I'm "driving you up the wall", I get annoyed by christians who call other christians evil and I'm very defensive of them. And while obsession is basically worship, there is a big difference between obsession and simply promotion. My only obsession is Jesus, which is why I only listen to music which has lyrics that honor God. Skillet even has a song about that(being obsessed with God) called "My Obsession".

Can you give me an example of a christian rock band supporting fornication? If you mean that it is simply because of the genre, can you please explain how you can compare christian artists with secular ones? As far as I'm concerned, they are as different as christian pastors are from satan's "pastors" or whatever the "church" of satan calls their evil leaders, and if you don't believe they are different, could you kindly explain why?

You seem like a nice young man, but you are driving me up a wall with all the "Christian Rock" stuff. Is that the only thing your think about? You sound like you're obsessed with the stuff. You're veering dangerously close to idolatry.

What about a little Bible study son, and not just the touchy-feely stuff, the WHOLE Bible. God talks quite a bit about worshipping false idols in the Old Testament. Start with Leviticus 26 and remember, an idol can be ANYTHING other than Jesus or God that is worshipped, including a band.

The way to CHRIST's unconditional love is by doing everything He commands.

First of all, I obey Jesus as best as can, and when I fail to, I confess my sin to God. Secondly, would it make it you upset you if I listed verses showing that salvation is a result of faith in Jesus? Faith which than results in a spiritual heart transplant which is shown in the person acting in way that pleases God.
