No, you are drowning in an ocean of sin and the lifeguard is Jesus. Prayer is mouth-to-mouth rescusitation and His blessed love is the very breath of life.
We do have a short time in this life, but it's barely a blink in the eternity we have in the next life, and where would you rather spend that eternity, basking in the love of God or burning with unbearable pain?

Every religious person I have spoken to has said the same thing. Catholics, Jews, Muslims.. etc all of them tell me they are the only way to salvation. People can never know anything. We're a stupid race, and rather egotistical. I think I shall like to find my salvation freely and not in chains.
