  • Re: Is Your Child A Goth?

Oh, joy! Another Gothtard who thinks that a list of warning signs is actually a list of achievements about which he should brag.

    Turn or burn, boy!

And while you're deciding whether or not you want to accept Jesus and give up your Gothtard cult lifestyle, you can head over to the General Church Fellowship area, find the Introductions Forum, and introduce yourself properly.

I find it truly amazing that a group of people who consider themselves so righteous must resort to insults and ridicule due to a difference. No where did I say I denied what your "group" preaches, nor did I say I accept it. I just found this post rather humorous and decided to add my two cents. I realize that by posting here that I am fully opening my screen name to massive flame wars, but I really don't care. And "On Your Knees" I was not bragging, just answering questions.

Son, we are just sharing the love that is contained within the pages of the Holy KJV Bible. God hates fags and goths too. Its as simple as that. We want to help you change your perverted lifestyle and avoid an eternity in a lake of fire.

Now where is the insult in that?

The insult is there in your own words my friend. You called me a "goth" and used that word in the same context with the word "fag". The word "fag" is a very insulting term to point out someone who is homosexual. I realize that you a not calling me a "fag", yet you are using the term goth as an insult. I have not insulted anyone on this forum, and have been rather respectfull. I just came here to read, and respond. Because unlike many people, I take pride in looking at different sides of the equation. I tend not to think in things as black and white. Life is more complicated than that and we all know that as truth.

Son, Jesus commands us to judge. You can slap a new coat of paint on a sow, but you and I know that a sow is a sow. Well the same is true with goth scum and sodomite perverts.

I don't know if you are a filthy hellbound goth or a degenerate hellbound queer. Frankly it doesn't matter to me if your sissyboy feelings get hurt. We are here to smack you along side your zit-filled head and steer you away from the many paths that satan lays out to lure you into hellfire.

If you had a buddy who was drunk, wouldn't you grab his car keys and tell him that he's too drunk to drive? would you worry about his girlyboy feelings being bruised?

Stop throwing a hissy fit and get on your knees for Jesus Christ!

So now in this post, you are admitingly insulting me? What changed from one post to another? First off, don't worry about my feelings, they are of no concern to you on anyone else. My feelings would never be affected by the writings of someone I do not know on a personal level, and certainly not anyone on this forum. Again, just to state, I am here to gather information for my own. The more you educate yourself, the less you can be manipulated by others.

I think you have misunderstood The Pastors good words Mr Xtort.
Unlike you, our feelings ARE affected by the writings of someone else.
That someone else is our Creator, God who wrote the words down in Sacred Text.

I truly admire the fact that the writings in the bible affect all of you on such a profound level. I have never doubted that, nor have I ever insulted a member in that regard. I was explaining My own morals. In the realistic sense, I do not know any of you on a personal level at all, therefore my feelings would never be effected by any of your members. Now, if you want to talk in regards to a "spiritual relationship", if I had one, the writings would have a prolific impact on my emotions.

Do not take this the wrong way Lady Talitha, but by no way shape or form am I assuming that any words on this forum are "inspired" by a higher being. Some of the posts here have good points, some don't. I am just merely attempting to take what I like, leave what I do not, and learn a little bit about the group of you all in the process.

Which is exactly why you are hellbound, boy. You cannot go through God's Holy Word cherry picking the parts you like and ignoring the rest. Its ALL or NOTHING boy.

Praise! You see that? Pastor Ezekiel just posted some words that weren't just "inspired" by a higher being, they were direct quotes from GOD Himself! You can't argue with that, can you?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

Hmm, you present an interesting point. My I present a slightly different point?

                        Textual Criticism

Basic to all further study of the Hebrew Bible is an analysis of the accuracy of its text. This analysis is necessary because even the best manuscripts of the Hebrew scriptures contain scribal errors. The diligent work of the Sopherim and the Masoretes tried to eliminate copyist mistakes, but they still occurred. There are a number of variant readings for almost every Hebrew scripture passage. If one had a dozen ancient manuscripts of a passage, their comparison with each other would reveal numerous differences in spelling or wording. Some differences would be minor and others would be significant for the meaning of the passage. A reader using one of the recent translations of the Hebrew scriptures, such as the NIV or NRSV, will notice numerous footnotes about textual matters. An interesting example is found in the NIV note on Exodus 1:5. This translated verse reads: "The descendants of Jacob numbered seventy in all; Joseph was already in Egypt." The footnote that refers to the word "seventy" points out that this is the number that occures in the Masoretic text, but that the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Septuagint have instead "sevent-five." The note also mentions the reference to the to this verse in Acts 7:14 where the number is also "seventy-five." Apparently the Acts reference was taken from the Septuagint.
Textual differences like these were largely the inevitable consequence of the manual reproduction of the biblical manuscripts. Even in printed texts, where control is strict, mechanical errors occur. They were much more common in handwritten copies. Occasionally there are differences that represent intentional changes made by a scribe or an editor to preserve an intended meaning.
Scribal mistakes are usually divided into three categories: errors of the eye, errors of the ear, and inclusions into the text of marginal notes. Errors of the eye occurred when manuscripts were being copied by sight and a scribe misread the text or failed to follow his place accurately. Thus he might advertently change aa letter (a number of Hebrew letters look alike); or repeat a letter, word, or phrase; or omit a letter, word or phrase. In Leviticus 10:10 the phrase "if a man commits adultery with the wife of " occures twice in Masoretic text and the repetition is probably a scribal mistake. Compare the translations of this verse in the KJV, the NRSV, and the NIV:

KJV: And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with the neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
NRSV: If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death.
NIV: If a man commits adultery with another man's wife-with the wife of his neighbor-both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

The words in italics in the KJV were added by the translators to smooth out awkwardness occasioned by repetition of the phrase "commits adultery with."

This is just a small example of how over the years the bible has lost its literal meaning.
