[quote=Brother Temperance;227403]You would appear to be what is technically known as an idiot. If I came round your house and messed all your stuff up and kicked you in the crotch and glued your pets to the walls, would you thank me for bringing chaos to the place? That's not just a rhetorical question: if you send LBC a $10 donation using the Paypal button and PM me your address, I actually would be willing to do that.

Your accusing me of abusing animals and you want to glue my pour innocent pet to the wall... I hope he gives you rabies... come to Green bay, Wisconsin im sure you'll find one of us wandering around main street

This is a difficult subject but i shall endeavor to do my best honorable Mr. Rodimer. We all know that God is all powerful, thus, he can chose to grant any power to his mortal supplicants in the afterlife. Personally though, I'm interested in hearing an account rendered from biblical passages.

If we first look at Isaiah Chapter 6:6-7
"Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged."

Here we see Isaiah in the famous "here I am Lord" scene engaged in divine discussion in heaven. Though not neccesarily dead, we see that God has granted Isaiah protection from fire considering the seraphim was able to place a hot coal on his mouth without melting his face off.

      In Revelations 21:3
"And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God."

We see one of the chief advantages we;ll receive, that being the privelege of standing before and with the all-powerful God. As it is, were we to find ourself in that current situation, we would be utterly destroyed as we are tainted and unworthy creatures. Only after we are washed clean with the blood of the lamb will we be able toface the judgement.

      1 Corinthians 15:49-53
"And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."

We see that the unworthy and imperfect aspects of our bodies will be removed and reformed in a perfect celestial version. Sickness, deformities, weaknesses, all of it removed when we are judged worthy of heaven and granted our immortal forms.

      Revelations 21:4
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

From this passge the souls of the judged shall be inculnerable to harm or destruction, never feel saddness, and never feel pain. Now whether this is a result of a set of immunities granted to the celestial forms or the complete absence of the stimuli which would evoke these feelings is irrelevent.

A few other points of reading:

From what was accounted for in revelation, we will still be walking around, that is, no wings for flying aroud and such. Likewise there is an account how fresh water and fruit will always be available, thus denoting the oppertunity to eat, though i doubt there will be a sneccesity to eat. Likewise there is an account of being able to sing praises and give honor and glory to God unending which suggests to me that sleeping, eating, drinking, muscel fatigue, or anything like that are optional affairs. I alsoreason our attention spans will be augmented significantly to make all this possible.

Catholics! Lord, no! What do you take me for?

I would never advise indulgence in lust fulfillment the way catholics do. Sexual education to my opinion is to the benefit of the child/ young adult! It has nothing to do with gratification!

I have been -rightfully and justly- corrected for this remark. My apologies, I responded in 'the heat of the moment'. In the future I will first contemplate that which I wish to say, before blurting something out.

              I stand corrected.

Could you support this bizarre assertion with Scripture?

Are we supposed to say to the Unsaved Trash, "Well, you're going to Hell. I'm not going to tell you how to avoid it, but it won't be that bad. I mean, at least you won't have to worry about frostbite!"

First of all, this is a Christian Church forum, not the Penthouse Reader Submissions section. We have no interest whatsoever in stories about your wee wee!!
about a lad, (me) i was raised in a good, god praisng, jesus worshiping, christian family. around the time of my early teens i discovered i liked heavy metal music and black clothes and generally different (a.k.a alternative) things. this doesnt change the fact that every sunday i went to church with my family, i sang my hymns and i said my prayers. so explain that, and dont just use a cop out excuse.
Have you ever set foot in a garage? I bet you have.

Does that mean you're now a car?

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than being in a garage makes you a car. Going to church because Mommy made you is even less meaningful than doing it because you wanted to.
(and yes i am a sado-masochist, that doesnt mean im a devil worshiper, it just means i happen to enjoy pain. trust me, give it a whirl sometime, you might like it)
I believe I already told you this is not the Penthouse Reader Submissions section.

Something tells me they might actually be able to hook you up with some frostbite in Hell. Consider 100 years standing on blades of ice only to be impaled sideways on a burning brass tongs and shattered against a wall of heated onyx.

One of the many delights the unsaved might have waiting for them in the "infinite" tortures of damnation.

I hadn't noticed anything beyond a Lake of Fire and lots of demons mentioned in the Bible. Perhaps I overlooked such things as you describe; could you point me to them? (Note: The Apocrypha is NOT part of the Bible, so don't even try that!)

                    Thanks.

What is confusing about it? Read and follow the KJV Bible, pray, repent, tithe, marry and have kids. Then after all that fun, you get to worship Jesus for all eternity in heaven!!

It all seems so crystal clear to me!
Gather around so that I can read to you from my book of TRUTH. Genesis thru Revelations....Pick one!

Friend, the point is to fit yourself to Christianity. Not to make Christianity fit you. If it was easy, everybody would get to Heaven!

Boy, I have the fire of Jesus Christ burning inside me, I think I know what I am doing! Maybe you should read your Bible a little more, at the very least it can help you learn to spell a little better.

And that is called a miracle, Jesus doesn't do magic!

One of the key points of Christianity I always look to for inspriration, is that fact it's not what I would chose (in the event of some hypothetical religious yardsale).

Christianity is hard, God is merciful thought demanding, and the ammount of self-sacrafice involved in order to be a true christian is significant.

Consider, were Christianity to be comfortable or feel-good as it were, it would be indulging the base parts of humanity instead of inspiring mankind to rise above their own pitless imperfection.

Many of the so called trend religions so popular in Hollywood these days rely on sheer (s)intro-spection in order to gain (s)inner-peice. There is no sacrafice or challenge to that lesser part of yourself which does not appreciete being driven out of it's comfort zone.

When Jesus Christ first came to his disciples, he asked them to give up all their worldly possessions and follow him. They left their homes, families, and fortunes behind them for a life or service, persecution, and ultimately death.

Christianity has much to offer, but if you, as a person, are not willing to pay the price, you will find no reward in this life or the next.
