I have been having one heck of a time getting my children to understand Tithe. Not wanting to insult the Church or God with thier meager wages, I have started them out to give me Tithe. According to the scripture, if you are poor or a 'have not' then the correct Tithe is 100%. Only my eldest daughter is able to earn a lot of money, spreading the word of God on the streets, so I Tither her at 50%, more if I locate heathens for her to preach to. All the other children are upset I Tithe them 100% and insist they work. Idle hands are the devils plaything. Any suggestions?

Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Well, I took your advice Pastor. Not that I did not trust you but I did not want to attempt to teach the entire family at one time so I thought it best to start out small. After a few hours, I was completely exhausted and my littlest boy, cute as could be, was curled up on the basement floor, gurgling away. He looked so peaceful, eyes tightly shut, little droplets of the sandmans affections on them. Well, this morning he was singing a different tune. Actually, he was quiet for a change. None of his running about yelling and creating a ruckus. As a respectful lad of 2, he waited till all his elders had finished breakfast before he took any food for himself. Though in our house, you have to be pretty quick about getting yours as the women will get into it before the men are done. I think he has learned his lesson on tithing. I'll pick another child to work on tonight.

In the 1980's I had a sprawling mansion overlooking the Pacific ocean and a fleet of Rolls-Royces. I didn't get that money from scamming people. I was rewarded by the Lord with prosperous fortune for preaching his message to millions around the world on PTL. People in trailers paid their tithes, not because they were scammed or force, but were thankful to me for saving their souls and releasing them from the fate of going to Hell.
You have no idea how many poor, desperate people with nowhere to go in life, would gladly send in hundreds, even thousands of dollars to me with letters praising me for helping them to find Jesus Christ.
There is no amount of money in the world that is equal to the glorious wonder of accepting Jesus Christ as your own personal Savior.

You don't have to pay money to some person to accept Jesus Christ in your life....
Pastor, you may not take their money by physical force but you string them along with false promises, such as the more you give, the more prosperous you will be....and since they want to be prosperous and don't want to go to hell, they believe you and send in their hard earned cash....

Actually "paying money"...I don't like that sordid term...I prefer "tithing" is mentioned numerous times in the Bible and encouraged. False promises? Are you accusing GOD of making false promises with people???? You are treading on dangerous ground for that accusation, sinner! I never made any "false promises". I simply preach the KJV 1611 to the masses and spread the Word of God.

Sometimes God kills children for misbehaving.

Amen, Brother Zeke! You tell that heathen!
My own children know how seriously I take the Word of God and have NEVER EVER stepped out of line. They know I follow His Word to a T, and wouldn't ever hesitate to do what God commands me. Needless to say, I've never been "smiteth" or "curseth" by my own children before.

Getting a little over the top on the child beating I think.
Q - do you like to get beaten?
If you do you need to ask the Lord for his help.
If you do not you should not inflict onto others what you would not like inflicted onto you.
Beat a man like a dog and he acts like one.
Respect comes from your tolerance of everyone being imperfect not your fist threatening them into submission and to abide by your ideal of their perfection.
Just as you can take a horse to water but not force it to drink you can preach 24/7 to your children but no force them to believe. They will believe because they see your actions speak in place of your words.
When your old & gray God forbid they try your teachings back when a tired mind allows you to say things out of tongue.
God will steer them straight and true in his own time.
