Ok, to answer most in brief comments.

To those who claimed she didn't live a beautiful/happy life, I'd like to hear more or at least some proofs other than "doubts".

Their life was documented, most of their laughs, journeys, and arguments. Ayeisha was the only wife who was young and virgin. Unlike all other wives, Ayeisha lived 40 years after the prophet died, teaching about the life of the prophet. Looking at her life, she was a genius. However, none of her writings and teaching said something bad about the prophet!!

Again, Its funny that no one commented on my grandmother getting married at 12 or my wife's grandmother getting married at 11. Ask many old people in the US, they will tell you the same.

Actually, I have personally seen a six year old get her period. It's a rarity in this day in age, but it is possible. And people back then did get married at a very early age. They had shorter life spans and probably grew up faster than people today do, mentally or otherwise. Although six is a little young. On the other hand, perhaps it only seems so strange because we are not accustom to that way of life.

Shert, you said that she had the choice to end the marriage. I seriously doubt that. She would have no doubt been pushed and bullied into it by her parents, her father mostly, and told of dishonor and death etc should she refuse.

As a matter of fact, I'm willing to bet the truth of that sentence would have been more like 'her father had the choice to end the marriage'.

I'm sorry but it is still rape. And people who get married young in the US are at least in their teens and willing, consenting to sexual relationships. Not young children who are dragged away from their mothers and forced into the bed of a lecherous old man.

14?? Too young. I'm rather unnevred with all this. Children should be allowed to be children for as long as possible. Teenage years are already hard enough! Thought it tends to depend on the person, but Gernerally speaking sex before 16 is just wrong. I knew people in the past got married younger but 11 12?? thank goodness we living in a different world.

Out of curiosty what does the bible say about marriage and age of the participants?

Also, how come your comment is directed to me only?? There are many other males posting in this topic, including True Christians.

The True Christian males are expected to read every topic on the forum to ensure there's nothing untoward going on, and are encouraged to post to make sure everything is Biblically correct. Newer Christian males, wanting to learn all they can and spread the word to the families, including wives and mothers, are encouraged to read everything as well. There is no need for a non-Christian male to go into a thread titled "Tampons" unless he's expecting to get a sick thrill.

I guarantee you there isn't a single old person in the US that you could go up to who will have been married when they were 11 or 12. Well, maybe some backwoods in Kentucky or Alabama where God's Word has been perverted through illiteracy and moonshine, but even they usually draw the line at 14.

I didn't say she had her first period when she was 6. She became a full woman in Islam when she turned 9, and thats when they started living together.
Aeyisha was not forced. She had a choice that her father made when she was 6, then she had a choice when she turned 9 and she chose to live with the prophet.
