    why it matters...

DISCLAIMER: THE FOLLOWING IS SUSPECTED TO BE DON'T READ THE COMMENT IF YOU DON'T FEEL OVERLY CONSOLIDATED IN YOUR BELIEVE!!!

    ================================================== =

i'm not sure if you're familiar with the gilgamesh-epos (GE). so i give you a short update. the GE is sumerian epos about one of their kings called gilgamesh. it resembles in many part what's written in the bible (formost the noah story...) yet almost 3000 years older! the sumerians were living in south ancient mesopotamia, no called iraq.

the epos goes like this: in the beginning there were higher, ancient gods and lower, helping gods. the lower gods were supposed to work for the higher gods and thus dug the first two cannels on earth...the euphrates and the tigris (two rivers flowing through iraq). but the work of the lower gods was hard and since they were so many they rebelled against the higher gods. civil war was on the brink!

eventually the god of wisdom came up with a solution. let's form "humans" out of the mud, give them a soul (= bringing them to live) and let them do the work. for many years this worked well but man forgot about woreshipping and got negligent. the gods got angry! they eventually came up with the plan to wipe out all humanity!...except for gilgamesh the rightful king of the sumerians, who respected the gods. so they went to work and let a huge flood coming to wash mankind away. the flood was covering the earth for many days........................and the gods were slowly beginning to feel hungry for they had nothing to eat, no one who worked for them, harvested crops etc. they finally began mourning about what they have done. they were almost starved to death.

when gilgamesh first set foot on dry earth he made an offering to the gods and they "were ravenously revolving around it like flies"!!! they came to realize that they actually became dependend on man! as a god could die when there was nobody to woreship him anymore. well, not really die, but become so insignificant, powerless that he's not recognizable anymore. so gods and man struck a plan. the gods will guide man through wisdom while the man will woreship the gods and supply them with offerings (prayers). this is where the little story ends.

now ask yourself the question again. why would god want me to believe in him? ok, he loves me, i love him...we live happily ever after. but why is he so obsessed with making me believe in him, better why does he not want me to woreship other gods? or, why does he want me to throw in hell for all eternity if i don't believe in him? JHWH is one of those gods and seized control! he rewrote history by dictating the bible! making us believe he is almighty, everlasting... in this light everything makes perfect sense. he loves me unconditionally, but first i have to execpt him and ONLY him! what does he care if i pray to an idol which is powerless if not that it becomes powerfull through my prayers?

is he envious, trying to maintain his power? so that's what he gets from us, that's his part of the bargain. he gets powerfull through us. since no god can ever really die he has always to fear that the other ones are comming back...reclaiming their position, which would lead to the conclusion that actually god is not the only one.

or is he even man made, came into being through our prayers, vanishing if the memory of him vanishes...eventually dieing?

    ================================================== =

OF COURSE THESE ARE DEVILISH THOUGHTS BUT WHAT THEN IS THE REASON GOD WANTS ME TO BELIEVE IN HIM OR WILL ME HAVE THROWN IN HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY...maybe he can't even do so!

think about it and answer me quickly please,

Let me stop you right there. Your whole argument rests on this false premise.

The epic of Gilgamesh was written by Ishmael after Abraham ran him off. Ishmael was miffed that that he was not to be heir, so he turned aside after Satan and wrote a mythological false Bible.

The story of Gilgamesh is a rather silly myth that bears little resemblance to reality. In contrast, the Genesis account is a logical, seemingly factual account of a historical event. It lacks the obvious mythological aspects of the Gilgamesh epic.

Upon request I will cite scripture for all these facts in God's Holy Word.

well i didn't know that! thx for correcting me though i think this is disputed.
still, my argument has actually nothing to do with gilgamesh and when he lived! but maybe it's really better not to read the post...it's just too long anyway.

I'd still really would like to hear an answer to my question. if you want to know why...read the post .

              Don't honor me, honor God.
Every compliment or thought you waste on me, you should give to God instead.

you explained that there's no point in asking and yet you couldn't answer my question, i'm afraid. it might not matter to you but it does for me. i thought maybe, since you guys talk to god and he does talk to you, can ask him for me.
I knew you were going to ask that. And no.
If God wanted you to know, He would talk to you.
God has decided to not provide you with an answer, and I won't disobey Him by giving it to you.

you are telling me i shouldn't care, i should obey...maybe i should, maybe i'm a fool...but i still have a point in this as so far my question was not answered. i'll ask him if i see him.
Well, if you have a point. That's it.
You have questions but no answers..
And that's really the very essence of atheism, questions without answers.
Unsatisfaction, misery, and depression... And later, hellfire.

              right, my existence is insignificant.
              Right.
So when that's your belief - Why do you even bother?

...because i am the lost brother (LUKE 15:11 following)
But the lost brother repented, acknowledging his guilt and felt he was unworthy of his father.
You have done none of those things, and that you have the gall to compare yourself to the lost brother shows that you are nothing alike.

He was modest, you are prideful and boast.
He felt he didn't deserve anything, you feel you deserve everything.

...maybe he does simply not exist if i don't want him to??? so is man gods blunder or is actually god mans blunder...that's what i am trying to find out. THAT'S WHY THE QUESTION ABOVE CARES!
              Neither.

yes it is, because in world otherwise void of love and bullets or full of invisible/unrecognizable love and bullets i MUST understand these things in order to deduce from a splattered brain that actually a bullet was the reason! think about it.
But you can still be a victim of a bullet, thus your former argument fails.
And you miss the greater question, as all those with a "scientific" mind does:
Why the bullet was fired upon you.

Question: didn't jesus love his enemies?
what about MATTHEW 5:21 following (especially 25)?
Where does He say that He loves His enemies? Where?
              He doesn't.

you got me on this one . I admit it was more throwing the ball back
It's the Holy Spirit, not me.
And He gets you on every single one actually.

please, don't use my real name in here...(bad joke, was it? )
              Yes.

now we are speaking one tongue . that's another good question! if there weren't hell, would you love god. if there were no advantage/disadvantage, neither heaven nor hell, no salvation...nothing! would you still love him? why?
              Yes. And why?
              Because I love Him.

because he loves you? but he didn't loved you before you started loving him? what would it matter then anyway? imo, hell is what keeps the thing really going...if i might say so .
              See above.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: But if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knoweth nothing.

Amen Brother Wash. Which ties in perfectly with Our Saviour's gift of free will to choose Him or eternal hellfire. I really don't understand why people have such a hard time with this.

Satan does a fantastic job of turning people away from God's Gift(tm). These people hate Jesus so much that they are willing to literally gouge their eyes out so they don't have to see the Way, the Truth and the Light. Except for the ones that God decided to damn just for kicks and giggles -- they can't really help it ( "11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:" - 2 Thessalonians 2:11)
