  • Early Arrangements

My Son, Alexander is only but 9 months old. As of late I have been thinking heavily about his marriage to a godly baptist girl in the future. I've discussed with my wife's Grandfather about what I am to do. He suggested setting things up for his wedding now, as to avoid issues at a later date of finding a proper girl for him to wed. If any of the brothers here at Landover have a daughter the wish to make early arrangements for I am willing to discuss the matter with them.

As I know the True Christian men of Landover are sure to raise a proper lady, I have come to you with my intentions, If anyone here (of true christian status of coarse) sees flaws in my planning I will listen with thee utmost respect, anyone else can leave now!

    Re: Early Arrangements

My friend, perhaps you are a bit too eager to find a wife for your child so early, but then again in these days of 50% divorce rates, who can blame you? The Bible itself does not say anything in support (or against) arranging marriages for children so it really comes down to personal preferences for you.

My advice would be to raise your son perfect and noble so that once he reaches 18, he would be a fine young Christian man. At that point he can choose a nice Christian girl to marry (with your approval of course). The advantage of this is that he marries a woman he truly loves instead of someone who was picked out of a lottery winning. Because of that, he will be a happier man and less likely to to be swayed into the gruesome sin of adultery.
