Nice Guys Never Win?

A male friend of mine once mentioned that a guy friend of his and he were talking about why women didn't seem to like them. The two fellows decided that it was because women don't appreciate "nice guys".

My friend went on to complain that women were themselves always complaining about being treated poorly by men, but these women kept going for the "bad boy" type while ignoring "nice guys" like him.

Really, my friend's problem isn't that he is a "nice guy". I have known many a nice guy who still had the inherent manly strength of character to attract a woman.

What women really need is a man strong enough to tell them what to do, but nice enough to tell them the RIGHT thing to do, not just any old thing that a guy might want to manipulate a woman into doing.

What women really need are men who follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. True Christian Men are the only ones worth falling for. They are strong and decisive. They take their responsiblity to provide for their women seriously. They make their expectations of the woman's responsibilty clear.

They do not spend large portions of their incomes on action figures. They do not set up shrines to Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, DC Superheros or Marvel Superheros . The only heros that these men have are Jesus, Ronald Regan and George W. Bush.

You can be a "Nice Guy" and actually have a woman in your life. It is not true that women only want "bad boys". The problem so many of these fellows have isn't that they are not "bad boys" but that they are "fan boys". The word "boy" is the opperative one here and the source of the problem.

Be a man and get Jesus in your life. Once you are filled with His Holy Spirit and have read His Word, you will understand the power you truly have as a male.

Women love power. And who has more power than God?

The truth is that we women need a strong man in our lives, there is nothing we crave more than to find one and help him perform his duty to the Lord.

"And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." Genesis 2:18

"But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." 1 Corinthians 11:3

The problem with these so called "nice men" is that they too often forget their duty to the Lord, and waste their time on those frivolities you have mentioned, while also flattering us and encouraging us toward evil.

"To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead." Proverbs 2:16-18

If this is the case, it is only natural that women will look towards men who they feel will be able to put some discipline and control in their lives, even at the cost of their eternal soul.

So all you "nice" men, if you want to find a woman, it is as simple as following this good advice, taken from the best relationship counselor of all; the LORD.

"Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered." 1 Peter 3:7

As a former "Nice Guy," I can tell you that women are indifferent (and sometimes downright cruel!) to guys who don't smack them around enough. It is not in my nature to beat up women, but I have disciplined myself and worked at it over the years so I can now work up some brutish anger toward Delores as I smack her around a bit. And let me tell you, it has saved our marriage!!



Women have always loved "Bad Boys," even proper Christian women. How else to you explain the attraction to the Christian Metal band Demon Hunter? Just look at those hunky Bad Boys--- you can't take your eyes off 'em!!! Wolf wolf!!!

I agree completely, most of these so called "nice boys" are just that, "boys". They're nice to women because they're looking for a mommy to take care of them and are incapable of stepping up to the position of head of household.

I dated a fair number when I was single, they just didn't impress me. I thought I was close once, but then we hit a deer and I ended up being the one to bludgeon it to death because he went all squeally about the blood. He then went on a rant about how guns were evil, hunting was evil, and we should all get our meat from Safeway where no animals are harmed. Well that was the last date I went on with him.

So any "nice guys" that are reading this, man up!

Brother, as a mere female, I cannot correct you. May I point out that being a strong Christian man, or any kind of a man, is not synonomous with being a "bad boy"?

Jesus was not a bad boy. However, He was brave and strong and a girl could count on Him to die on the cross for her. The fellows that I was writing about would not sacrifice a Hans Solo action figure for her much less die for her sins. If they traded in their toys for Bibles and substituted their knowledge of sci-fi trivia for Bible wisdom, they would grow in manly stature and women would swoon over them, almost as much as they swoon over Jesus and Pastor Zeke.

I have never once seen Jesus depicted as a "nerd" or even a "goody two shoes." The Bible tells us he sometimes ministered to prostitutes, circus freaks, lepers, and the dregs of society. (I don't think of Rev. Jim as a goody two shoes at all, do you?)



More and more iconography and/or photographic evidence is depicting Jesus as a Bad Boy.



And here is a young scallywag that I met at a truck stop in Des Moines. He caught my attention because of the Jesus necklace he's wearing--- and how's this for a coincidence--- his name is Jesus, too!! (Although he pronounces it Hay-Sooos)

I think it's important to separate things out a bit. There are truths that apply to Christians and then there are the realities that face unsaved scum.

From the perspective of Christians, I am somewhat limited. I am currently unmarried, a virgin awaiting his bride in fact. However, I know from what I have seen.... good Christian women do not want effeminate, girlie men. There is an awful trend among many evangelical false Christians to be panty waists. We all know the type... they cry often, they exhibit emotions all the time. They spare the rod. Etc. Real Christians men will be fine, so long as they don't fall into this same trap.

From the perspective I had as a foul unbeliever, I have a bit more to say. I've been married. I've had many children. I've had many, many, many relationships with women. I can say without any hesitation that every unsaved women secretly wants to be treated poorly. The worse they are treated, the more they pursue that man. As a heathen at the time, I used this knowledge with great, depraved success. Even with so-called lezbos.

The issue gets complicated when sissy-boys (false Christians or real Christians in need of counseling) train their sights on brazen, hellbound hussies. The "nicer" the guys get, the less chance they have. This, however, is a blessing! It's God's way of protecting them, keeping them away from life-ruining Jezebels. Whenever a nice guy ends up with one of these harlots, it's best looked at as punishment from God, I think.

In the end, I have to say there's really nothing to complain about, I guess.
