No, what I fail to see is the difference between wife beaters and abusers of children. But enough on that...I just think what you're saying about the Special Olympics is wrong as well. I have been working at a place called Camelot Care Center for 2 years with children...well, not really children...but to me they are...in wheelchairs.

You belittle their intelligence by calling adult retards children and you judge us for our statements?

They can't do things for themselves at all sometimes and they really depend on the kindness of the staff and volunteers there. If you just worked with them for even 2 hours you would see how truly special they are. I've heard of one girl who even taught herself to read when my aunt worked there more than 20 years ago. Later on, Lori, the girl, managed to go home and stay with her mom and carry on a semi-part-time job as a children's book reader.

How are your statements and sentiments different than our own?

Another girl, Sylvia, had pneumonia when she was about 4 years old and it was so bad that she was diagnosed with brain damage and was confined to a wheelchair throughout her entire school career. Finally Sylvia picked up a pencil and started writing her ABC's in 8th grade, surprising her 8th grade teacher. Later on, she started writing sentences and then started doing easy math. Right now, Sylvia helps me out doing simple household chores now that she graduated from high school and also participates in the Special Olympics.

The Special Olympics is a beautiful thing, and in fact, I doubt that 90% of the people in this forum could do as well as some of these mentally handicapped people do in their events. The Lord knows when someone has hate in his or her heart, and that hate is what the Lord dislikes. This mind-set that the Special Olympics are wrong stems from hateful hearts. Unfortunately, the Devil also knows when someone has hate in his or her heart, and he will try to take advantage of that hate for persuasion. I hope you all are ready.

I am a Catholic Christian, and I have read the Bible numerous times, but your interpretation of the Bible is clouded and completely wrong. Some of you talk of beating wives and killing mentally handicapped kids (who are people). Murder is a mortal sin. And beating your wife is also a sin. Did Jesus beat woman or kill people due to some sort of handicap. The answer is 'NO!' In fact, Jesus saved Mary Magdelan from being stoned to death for prostitution, because he could see the good in everybody. He also cured the sick and disabled. I doubt that the son of God would go against his Father's wishes. I honestly just feel sorry for the people in this forum with this horrible mindset of a revenge seeking God. I also feel sorry for your families for having to deal with your ideas. Maybe you should stop rewriting and changing the Bible so it better suits your ideas, and read the real version of the Bible. I am a part of one of the oldest, largest, most significant religions in the world, Catholicism. How could you possibly think that your new-age religious thinkings compare to a centuries old religion? I don't mind people having views that oppose mine, except when those views goes against the law of nature and justice. No person (male, female, white, black, Indian, Native American, Asian, Latin American, African, young, old, mentally handicapped or physically handicapped) should be treated unfairly or be unjustly harmed in anyway. Take a good look at the God you have all created, because that is not the Lord that you will meet at the end of your life.
