Oh, goodness gracious, dear Brother Mayor Hold: I think you're onto something here. I've had a similar reaction with my eyes when I once changed the channel and found myself looking at that Anderson Hooper person on the Clinton News Network. I had to reach for my eye drops! He was going on in a very silly fashion, making sarcastic comments about that lovely Judge Jeannie on Fox News. It's no wonder my eyes were smarting. So, take it from this old soul: it's not worth it to peak at that other network -- not for a second. I'm just very grateful to that my eyesight was restored!

A blessed day to you, dear Brother Mayor Hold,
    Sincerely, Isabella W.

Creation Science, as always, comes to rescue. The cause of this eyelid conundrum is in plain sight in the KJV Bible. Mrs. Victory is the epitomy of lesser-sex beauty within the True Christian™ community and God tells us to keep the hazards of unblemished womankind in mind.

      Proverbs 6:25
Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

Perhaps one of the garden staff had given her the look. Jesus is making that known through this gentle physiological reminder.

It is concerning that the garden staff might mistake an entirely True Christian(tm) response, in this case a twitching eyelid, for the flirtatious eyelid fluttering of a wanton woman. If someone like a pool boy was involved, I would be looking at getting him sent back to Mexico, Sister V.

Has anybody checked the twitching eyelid to see if it is twitching in Morse code? If the twitching eyelid is a message from God, we cannot rule out the possibility He might be employing Morse code.

Re: Please pray for my eyelid to stop twitching

I've been thinking about this twitching eye problem and wondered if God is reminding you to quote Matthew 7:5 to others here or to those you might encounter elsewhere in your life. In Matthew 7:5 God is giving advice to those who point at others and call them hypocrites. God advises such people they should take to log out of their own eye before that look for a splinter in the eye of another.

The Matthew 7:5 passage seems to be aimed at those who come to this site and call us hypocrites. I believe the twitching is telling us to read that passage to those who come here and call us names and criticize we True Christians™ at Landover Baptist.

I am very, very concerned for Sister V - she has not been back to update us on her eyelidular condition. I sincerely hope that this means that she has either made a full recovery or been called by Jesus to God's Glorious, Holy and Eternal Realm.

Re: Please pray for my eyelid to stop twitching

                Dear Sister Victory,

I am most concerned to hear about your physical complaint. It might be what those in secular medicine would call a tick. But in the Bible, most eyelid movements are associated with sin.

Pro 10:10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

Winking is associated with all kinds of deceitfulness and sinful shenanigans. A loose woman may bat her eyelids at a man, attempting lure him into sin. There was a time when even God Himself winked.

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

For 2,000 years, from Abraham to the incarnation of Christ, God winked at the sinfulness and ignorance of the nations to whom He chose not to reveal Himself as, generation after generation, they blindly marched off the precipice into eternal damnation, as if at an inside joke between Himself and the children of Israel. But as Paul tells us in the sermon on Mars Hill, the time for winking is over. God no longer tolerates sin and ignorance, and neither should we.

Twitches and ticks are no excuse for disobeying God's Word. For those who are a new creation in Christ there is no such thing as involuntary muscle movement. You have the power to bring the flesh into subjection to God's will (1 Cor 9:27). Christ wants you to be like a puppet animated by the His hand inside you through the Holy Spirit (Gal 2:20). My remedy: abstain from sin – and especially resist the temptation to watch porn – and go out and preach the Gospel.

I hope that helps. I'll be praying for you.

                In His grip,

                P. P.

                P. S. I do hope Sister V. is okay. I once owned a dog who got a tick and he had to be put down. Perhaps someone should check on her.
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Praise Jesus, I had no idea so many were praying for my eyelid! It stopped twitching about 2 and a half days after posting this. Proof that prayer works and God is Good! I did have a toe cramp not long after this though.

Oh Sister V, our Beloved Sister in Christ, of course we were all praying for you! I'm sure that even people who didn't have the time post on this thread used the time they saved by not posting to add your predicament to their prayers. And indeed God is Good (and Merciful to His people). My children will be just thrilled to hear that they have contributed to your recovery.

Can we assume that the cramp has gone and does not need our prayers? Or is prophylactic prayer needed to prevent its return? Please advise.

No, the toe cramp is gone as well. No doubt as a result of the high quality prayers from our Prayer Team. Rejoice!

Re: Please pray for my eyelid to stop twitching

On the eyelid twitching, we need to stay focused on two things. First, it certainly must be a message from God. Second, God is referring Sister Victory on something involving sight.

In reporting to our church membership about the nudest camp in eastern Iowa, it occurred to me this is about sin our eyesight reveals. Certainly, I do not want to imply our dear Sister Victory has been observing nude sinners, but God might have been sending warnings to be shared with the rest of us about such a sin. I'm not certain about this, just a thought.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
