  • Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich

There have always been studies about poor people and their problems. Oh, they don't where their next meal is coming from, they need to see a doctor, there and rats in their apartment, etc etc. These go on and on.

What we have not had enough of are studies about the stress rich people are forced to live with. Now we are learning they live stress filled lives. Yes, the stresses are different but they are there.

Think about how much more complicated a romantic relationship is for a rich person. Rich people have to wonder if every potential partner is after me or my money.

Rich people often have important companies and jobs. They also have enough money to enjoy themselves when not working. The stress is this conflict between their professional obligations and the desire to enjoy their wealth.

Frankly, I've seen enough lamenting about the plight of the poor. It's time to recognize rich people deserve our prayers as much as the poor.

Answer (1 of 2): No matter how well financially off we are, there will always be stress. This can be seen in a positive light, because no stress is a bad thing, some stress is a good thing, and lots of stress is a horrendous thing. Rich people face different types of stress. Wealthy people may n...

I agree Mr. Johny Joe Hold, we should pray for the rich more. So many rich people stress so much and they don't have the peace from Jesus Christ. Plus, Jesus said it's hard for them to enter heaven!

Wouldn't that just stress a wealthy person out, knowing about Matthew 19:24? He would be looking at camels and comparing his size to the size of a camel. "It's obvious," he would say, "A camel cannot fit through the eye of a needle. But, I am somewhat smaller. I wonder." No doubt some super wealthy people are nervous wrecks.

They need us. We should pray for them.

Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich

        Greetings!

All of the very rich people are white people except for Kanye and he is only rich because he is married to a white woman so he does not count. Rich white people feel stress because of the way they have treated the Black man and kept us enslaved for 400 years. And so they have developed a slavish mentality and spend their time drinking martinis except for when they come to the beaches in my home country which is Jamaica to drink rum and turn red in the sun. I believe the rich white men could assuage their terrible guilt by beginning the payment of reparations to Black people for their enslavement. I myself am attending Georgetown University on a full scholarship due to the fact that the Jesuits there once held my ancestors as slaves and I am certain they feel a great deal of relief knowing that I a Black man will soon be performing delicate brain surgery on white people due to my education as a physician.

I am a student of great merit and an intellectual and I believe that the rich white people will feel much better about everything once they have paid for their guilty sins and those of their ancestors. I myself would be happy to assist any of my white friends in the shedding of their guilt and I would be able to provide a certificate of payment to any who choose to avail themselves of my assistance.

I agree, I Man, that lots of groups feel guilt. Jews feel guilt for murdering Jesus. Women feel guilt because Eve committed the Original Sin.

But, I Man, don't people of the Negro race feel guilt for getting a free boat ride to the U.S. and afterwards free citizenship. It seems to me you Negro people took advantage of us white people at a time when we where vulnerable--worrying ourselves sick about how to get the cotton harvested.

I assume that word you used, "reparations," refers to paying for transportation from Africa, plus interest.

Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich

It's almost an established fact that the nigra slaves that wound up in America were inferior merchandise. The white man didn't go to Africa and round up slaves - it was much too dangerous, not to mention the stories of early Christian missionaries that would up in a boiling pot of water and were eaten by cannibals.

The "slaves" we're talking about were rounded up by their "brothers" - of different tribes to make money, and the ones that were caught couldn't run fast enough from their "brothers" to avoid capture. Sure, there were some white men with ships waiting along the coast, but there were also some A-rabs (need we say mooselimbs) also in on the action - and we all know how they like to haggle.

We've all seen that movie "Roots" where descendants of slaves go back to Africa and find their ancesters and villages where they were captured - all LIEberal tear jerker propaganda. If they were really going to seek "reparations" they would be hunting down the villages and ancestors that captured them - and maybe time for a little payback, like whoomping some ass.

So now we're left with some nigras that, despite being offered millions of dollars, won't play football, refuse to stand for the National Anthem, and then complain that no one wants to hire them because of - racism. As usual, they're lining up to vote Democrat to keep those free EBT cards coming.

Lastly, there is the matter of Jesus - and the ancesters of those missionaries that they boiled and ate. We need a little reparation there as well.
            Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

Thanks for posting the Scripture recording Christ's Own Words explaining that, although difficult, it's not impossible for rich people to enter Heaven. Sometimes crazies (social liberals swinging their wrecking ball to challenge Biblical marriage, leaders of blasphemous cults such as EMO and goth, catholics taking vows of chastity or poverty, hindoo cave-dwelling ascetics, maniacs promoting self-flagellation, it's a long list but you get the idea) claim that wealth prevents advancement to Heaven (or wherever they think they go) but we just need to remember King David—to name but one—to see that it can't possibly be so.
I Chronicles 22:14-16 Now, behold, in my trouble [King David speaking] I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto. Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work. Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.

A talent is quite a heavy weight which is easy to look up if you're interested. The point here is that David possessed such quantities in the first place.

Thank you, Sister, for that gift of Scripture. I've been praying recently, not only for the wealthy President Trump, but for his wealthy children. I read Donald Jr. got divorced. Surely that, and the President's own divorces, is in part due to the stress of all the wealth in that family.

We can't even beat our stress by relaxing in our private theaters and watching a movie. Billionaires are under-represented by Hollywood. Also, when billionaires are portrayed, it's by actors who are not billionaires - exactly like blackface, or whitecasting. Poorcasting, we should call it.

It's been proven by sociologists that older, upper class white men have the highest suicide rates of anyone in the country. The group with the lowest? Elderly, lower class black women. We need to start encouraging the Madeas of the world to start offing themselves to remedy this grotesque injustice. Does Aunt Jemima have more of a right to live than Charles Koch? Ridiculous!
I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore,
                    Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the Sea heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I!

Ridiculous indeed. I've been praying for Jeff Bezos. He owns Amazon and has been hounded by the tabloids. All he did was have a lady friend when he was married. His divorce caused him stress because his wife got $30 Billion of his $150 Billion.

It is certain to harm his health. To reduce worry about his financial future he does not give much to charity.

Oh, it is of great concern -- that is most certain, dear Brother Mayor Hold. The stress that our dear rich President Trump goes through is unquestionable, what with Demonrats trying constantly to knock him out of the Oval Office. It must be a great burden for the President, trying his best to make great again, build the border wall, etc., whilst still having the worries of his personal property to think about. Why, we must remember how his fortunes took a beating when he was forced to declare bankruptcy so many times. I do pray that his tax cuts for the 1% will be of some relief to him and his blessed family. But, I pray for protection from the , in general, for others in this situation.

Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

For example, how the poor Queen of England manages to afford to keep the lights on in her houses is beyond me, especially with that Brexit going down the drains. At least, she and our President were able to forget their worries and to share a laugh or two when they were together.

A blessed day to you, Dear,

This is probably why, in spite of having more and tastier food to eat, the wealthier folks among us tend to keep ourselves in better shape than the feckless poor, who have a tendency towards lardiness.

Speaking of Matthew 19:24, that verse seems to get misinterpreted by fluffy bunny liberal "Christians" almost as much as the first half of John 3:16. As I explained to the homeless veteran who ignorantly quoted scripture (NIV, of course) at me the other day when I refused to "spare a dollar," Jesus Christ was NOT criticizing the wealthy!!! Not only do such interpretations disregard Galatians 3:28, but they imply a heretical worldview in which the souls of the deceased can take their possessions with them into the afterlife. While multiple True Christian™ pastors have assured me that the generosity of your earthly tithes will be reflected in your Heavenly accomodations, the idea that you will have your riches literally with you when you stand before God for judgment is blasphemous. Those assets are still on earth, rightfully inherited by the rich man's children or else bequeathed to conservative organizations and PACs. The next time a socialist liberal or homeless bum shouts Matthew 19:24 at you without context, be aware that you are dealing with an Egyptian neo-pagan, not a Christian.

Of course, come the destruction of the Earth (Isaiah 24 - such a very beautiful chapter), there will remain nothing for anyone to inherit. I find this very reassuring: after all, why not tithe now while we still can?
