Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich
If there were no wealthy people, how would anyone be employed?

Our goal here at LBC is to save America. We can save it by stopping sin in its tracks and helping the wealthy class stay healthy and wealthy. The witless can help by working harder for less money. It's not hard to understand.Originally posted by Prayer Warrior View PostGiven this study, it stands to reason that the reverse would be true as well. These people losing their cognitive function were never using their brains to begin with. They didn't need brains to do their jobs. The wages (along with brainpower), should be reserved to those who need it most and are providing jobs to the rest of us.

Sustained low wages are associated with significantly faster memory decline, according to a new study by Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
Given this study, it stands to reason that the reverse would be true as well. Higher wages lead to increased cognitive function. That's why it is so good we live under capitalism and that such a large percentage of the wealth is concentrated among such a relatively small percentage of individuals. The researchers found that, compared with workers never earning low wages, sustained low-wage earners experienced significantly faster memory decline in older age. They experienced approximately one excess year of cognitive aging per a 10-year period; in other words, the level of cognitive aging experienced over a 10-year period by sustained low-wage earners would be what those who never earned low wages experienced in 11 years.

Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich
There have been places where being rich was outlawed. There was an ideology at the time, based on an erroneous concept of wealth, that something like a treasure chest only contains so much. For the mikado to be "rich" he'd take the majority for himself, leaving less for everyone else. Great. Then someone invents a tractor. But tractors were never factored in because (although they'd already been invented) tractors didn't exist in the mind proposing the economic model. Therefore the model was incomplete. Everything taught in their schools was wrong and everywhere adopting it went bust. Apart from the new mikados.

Exactly, Sister Mitza. Our nation's rich are the foundation of all that we enjoy. They need to be cared for so not only we of this generation continue to benefit but our children and grandchildren benefit from the rich as well.Originally posted by MitzaLizalor View Post"We stand on the shoulders of giants," is another saying; what this so-called level playing field demands is for new giants to be drummed every time. Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich
I'm late to the discussion, apologies. If I understand correctly, the huge effort modern society puts in to "leveling the playing field", when there are already perfectly good leaders bred for the purpose, is wasteful. Not to mention stressful - recall there is a chance of failure in that scenario.
Making future leaders do math or pass entry exams or tidy their bedrooms, is pointless since a real leader would hire people to do that stuff for them anyway. Specialists who are experts in tidying, old ladies with decades of experience, ones who dream of chores the same way one might dream of chairing a committee, say.
Instead of taking exams, wealthy children should task bright, young ambitious exam takers with passing their exams and insist on the very highest standards. This is far more useful in the real world.

There are unique networking opportunities too. How would the economy progress if at every stage "the wheel needed to be reinvented" as they say, when perfectly good communications already exist between anyone actually running the show. "We stand on the shoulders of giants," is another saying; what this so-called level playing field demands is for new giants to be drummed every time. Ridiculous. If you ever enquire who the giants are (or were) you'll find there's only a couple every 2- or 3-hundred years going back to Thales and Pythagoras, who invented triangles. Some people say they invented singing too but I'm pretty sure people knew what music was before Pythagoras worked out what "notes" were.

Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich
Thank you, Brother Ander--The interview process would serve the wealthy so much better. The system recently involved athletic team coaches. Coaches were allowed to circumvent the admissions process. Each was allowed a number of admissions based on athletic ability only. After coaches had filled team spots they would accept some children of wealthy parents who were not athletes but whose parents provided something nice for the coach.Originally posted by Phil Ander View PostIt would be best if Universities went to a pure interview model to determine acceptance.
Is your father an alumni?
How much is his endowment?
That's really all that is needed.
That system forced parents to engage in something dishonest. It did not set a good example for children. Better they learn money counts and be done with it.

Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich
A new problem has come up for those kind people called the super rich. It is causing so much stress they need our prayers.
We know the children of wealthy parents deserve to attend prestigious universities. Their parents attended them and so it should be their children as well.
This has been accomplished by donations to the universities and by entrance exams. Wealthy children score higher on the entrance exams because they are given expensive training on how to do this. The student body of prestigious universities has been white and wealthy since opening day.
Now there is a crisis because donations cannot count and entrance exams have been eliminated. Prestigious universities are now swamped with applications of the poor and nonwhite. They are crowding out those who deserve admission by their status at birth.
If ever there was a group that needed our prayers it is the super rich.

Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich
Ew! They probably have goths too, then, out walking around I mean, not just in midnight enclaves.
Being more familiar with Friesland, I'll restrict my comments to that region. It is clearly prosperous, very tidy, and obviously predates Protestantism. It's not unique in that respect, but how wealth was deployed differs from other locations, one of which I'll contrast by way of illustration. The church building remained once the Romish friary was demolished in 1580. (For reference, Martin Luther lived from 1483 to 1546.) Reading on:
Jesus, as we know, was a carpenter. His friends owned their own fishing vessels and were employers. Some of them were officials working for the Imperial authority. Theirs was a prosperous community. They did not worship idols and we can be certain Jesus never carved any, regardless of the lucre He was offered to do so, because God has commanded not to make carved figurines. And the thinking is straightforward: if you haven't made one you can't worship it or bow in its general direction. QED.The three-aisled church without a tower is a ruin as a result of a fire that took place on 8 May 1980. In 1986 the church was opened again as a ruin.
This oldest monument in Bolsward received a special glass roof in 2006 . . . Under this special canopy, the church can again fulfill a social function, while retaining the character of a monument. On the days when the Broerekerk is not rented out, it is open to everyone

Other places of worship have been destroyed, some of them quite old. Not 300 miles away in Coventry, another disaster befell another Protestant church. It too had been a thing of Rome but overthrew the traces just as well until Hitler turned up. It doesn't take long, does it.

It remains a ruin—and a monument—open to the elements and any passers-by who'd care to drop in I suppose; from time to time (such as at Easter) traditional open-air plays occur and there is a new building, too. Satan gets a memorial, bound in chains. “But what's that other thing?” you'll be asking. That is a demon.

Satan is the one lying down [LEFT] on a wall of the new cathedral at Coventry, the bat demon [RIGHT] is outside a wall of the glazed monument in Bolsward. Building works on this scale require decent investment, only available from the super rich. Architects and sculptors are not noted for moderation when given their head resulting in some very questionable stuff (however artistic) surely causing stress for anyone holding the pursestrings, or more probably for those filling the purse back at square one, and the more stress one feels the more nauseous one becomes. Satan is bound in chains but goths could still turn up at full moon and make obeisance to their king. They seem to like chains. Meanwhile in Friesland, the artisans went completely insane. Jesus wants us to prosper and among the super rich, renovations like this are one way to say, “Thank you.” Imagine how they'd feel when checking out the result of their generosity, only to find the demon was insufficient as it was. It had to be a vomiting demon. So stressful. Satan however is always defeated by prayer.

WAS a Protestant country. Things have gone downhill a bit since the days of William the Silent. Seems the country is mostly full of atheists and Muslims nowadays.Originally posted by MitzaLizalor View Post"The Netherlands" is a Protestant country.

But I expect he would pay them in US dollars, which are worth a lot more than Euro cents, especially on the black market.Originally posted by Roland View PostThe main issue seems to be that Bezos offers the same wage for the people to rebuild the bridge as he is paying for his warehouse employees. After taxes that is 75 Euro cents an hour in NL
The solution to this seems perfectly obvious. If the masts are too tall to go under the bridge, then just drive the boat under the bridge before putting the masts on. It's just a matter of lateral thinking and, crucially, positivity. As Jesus said (Mark 9:23) If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich
"The Netherlands" is a Protestant country. I'm glad to see he's not pouring money into strongholds of idolatry. Here's the bridge.

It looks as if the middle section goes up and down. Surely if the boat needs to get past the bridge to reach the sea the local administrators would know that before choosing a yacht-building yard? The bridge is a national heritage monument so disassembling it will provide an opportunity for safety & maintenance assessment. As you say, a real win-win!
And a word for the egg-laying creatures. The "protesters" should consider how would they feel if after going to all the effort of producing and laying an egg some fool just throws it at a boat. I thought they were supposed to care for the environment and the creatures living in it? Very disappointing.
