A Dutch city has agreed to spend weeks taking down a historic bridge so Jeff Bezos’ new gigantic superyacht can reach the open seas this summer.


The Amazon founder’s 417-foot-long, three-masted ship that cost’s roughly $500 million is under construction in the Netherlands, but the pleasure boat will be too tall to pass under Rotterdam’s landmark Koningshaven Bridge, which has a 130-foot clearance, according to the NL Times, which cited Dutch-language outlet Rijnmond.


As a work-around, the megabillionaire and the boatmaker Oceano reportedly asked Rotterdam officials to temporarily dismantle the iconic bridge, and pledged to reimburse the city for expenses.


Taking apart and reassembling the middle section of the bridge known locally as “De Hef” was expected to take more than two weeks, the paper said. Rotterdam officials touted Bezos’ pet project as a revenue generator.

Now, a city is inconveniently having their historic bridge in the way of Bezos new superyatch. Bezos has generously decided to pay the city to remove this monstrosity, blessing the city with jobs.

The ungrateful and no doubt jelous locals are planning to pelt poor (in a overall fortunate/luck sense, not in monetary sense obviously) Bezos superyacht with rotten eggs!


This is why it is so hard to be rich. You can't exercise your god given free market rights without jelous mobs coming in to attack you!

Today you have to look for a good Republican news outlet to learn the real truth about what is going on. Finally, I found one that explains how biased the liberal press is against billionaires.

The myth repeated constantly is that billionaires cashed in on the Corona virus. It claims billionaires made huge amounts of money while ordinary people had to quit work.

So, what's the truth? It is that billionaires made a lot of money when stock prices rose but not as much as the liberal press claims. Everyone who had the smarts to be in the stock market made money. And, the liberal media did a trick with numbers. It chose as the starting point for stock prices, not the beginning of the Corona, but at some earlier low point. This made it appear billionaires made their biggest money during the pandemic when it was actually over a longer period of time.

Billionaires own the drug companies that sell the vaccine some people (not Landover Baptists) are vaccinated with. Billionaires own the hospitals and helicopters sick people use. I am praying the feelings of these billionaires are not damaged by all the criticism.

I'm certain if we didn't tax billionaires at all they'd somehow find a way to get roads, schools, national defense etc. Done. Unfortunately due to jackbooted irs thugs who insist on taking money away from our beloved billionaires we will never see this reality happen.

Maybe every American could contribute $3,000 to help raise the wealth of these billionaires by an additional trillion. That's what would help the economy.

This is why i said we should just give out trillions more money billionaires ! They are better at capital allocation! Elon Musk would agree with me.

I'm really worried that a new development will cause Ivanka and Eric Trump stress. I just read the Nazi feds under the dictatorship of Joe Biden have issued subpoenas demanding they testify about the Trump businesses under oath.

Eric and Ivanka are being accused of assigning false values to Trump properties. The Feds noticed that when Trump Inc. was applying for a loan, a building's value was very high making possible a larger loan. The same building was valued much lower at tax time lowering the taxes.

Anyone who took economics 101 knows values change. A beach is more valuable on a sunny day when everyone wants to go there. An umbrella is more valuable on a rainy day. The Trumps were merely stating the value of properties on a given day--another day the values were different.

I'm praying none of the Trump children nor Trump himself have to testify. They and their friends among the super rich are suffering enough and do not need this.

I normally only care about the stresses of management and not the rank and file employees, but every so often an employee has a legitimate complaint.

What the actual ****? I didn't sign up for this, there was nothing in the offer letter/job description about this.

Engineers making 400k annually can justifiably be very sensitive people. They shouldn't be lumped together with the rank and file delivery drivers. What if someone they're delivering to has covid? Or just smells bad? This is no way to show employee appreciation for your best and brightest employees.

Most of my coworkers and I are excited. DD pays well and I get to better understand what I'm working on, and hopefully improve the experience for our dashers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Some employees came to the program's defense. These employees who actually need to to use their service to "better understand" what they're working on obviously don't have the same brilliant inherent understanding of the program that this engineer who is complaining has.

Other less courageous CEOs could have had someone else in senior management announce these lay offs, but this is the type of CEO who owns up to his decisions and put's it all out there.

Super rich businessmen like Mr. Greg put too much stress on themselves. While it is noble for him to make the announcement himself and say the layoffs are his decision, he should not risk his health and happiness in this way. Better is to let some lower level exec do this kind of thing. That will reduce Mr. Greg's stress and we will all be the better for it.

Better.com CEO Vishal Greg recently laid off more than 900 employees. I feel bad for him.

This isn't news you are going to want to hear but ultimately it was my decision and I wanted you to hear it from me. It has been a really challenging decision to make, this is the second time in my career that I am doing this and I do not want to do this. The last time I did it I cried, this time I hope to be stronger.


We are laying off about 15 percent of the company for a number of reasons. The market, efficiency, performances, and productivity.


If you are in this call you are part of this unlucky group that is being laid off. Your employment here is terminated effective immediately.

It must be really stressful for him to make this decision right before the holidays. He is probably up at night with the stress of deciding to fire all these people.

Garg reiterated his stance and accused some of his workers of being lazy on a blogpost on Blind.


He said: "You guys know that at least 250 of the people terminated were working an average of 2 hours a day while clocking 8 hours+ a day in the payroll system? They were stealing from you and stealing from our customers who pay the bills that pay our bills. Get educated."

The other 650 people probably did something to deserve getting fired as well. Other less courageous CEOs could have had someone else in senior management announce these lay offs, but this is the type of CEO who owns up to his decisions and put's it all out there.

I was encouraged to read an article entitled, Don't Blame the Greedy Wealthy. The article points out the truth: There have been programs since forever to take money from the deserving wealthy and give it to the undeserving poor. Yet, poverty lives on.

All these high taxes on the wealthy accomplished was to make wealthy families anxious. They worried about their wealth while poor people carried on as always.

Maybe it's too much to think poor people will pray for less stress among the superrich, but we wealthy people can pray for each other.

As Leon rightly points out, many Americans shockingly don't have sympathy for billionaires. I feel bad for all these billionaires. I'm glad I don't have to deal with this level of stress.

I know a lot about the personal finances of Landover Baptist and Freehold, Iowa. Of course, I cannot disclose any of it.

Suffice as to say, many of us fall into the category of the wealthy class needing and deserving sympathy and understanding. We keep our spirits up by condemning sin and keeping the government in the dark about our wealth. We will not allow ourselves to be put upon by the lessors of society.

Billionaires have recently come under fire for the lack of taxes they pay on their unrealized stock gains. They don't have to pay taxes on stock they receive until they sell, and they're able to take loans out against their stocks. Doing this allows them to cover daily living expenses without paying taxes. Giving them around an 8.2% effective tax rate. Well I'd say 8.2% of a billionaires taxes are far more than 30%-40% from a middle class individual. So this seems like well above and beyond their "fair share" to me.

With Elon Musk's income increasing and Jeff now at only the second richest person in the world, on top of having to give back these tips, on top of inflation, his 200B won't go as far as it used to. I imagine he'll be having a very stressful and cash strapped Christmas this year. Jeff is yet again deserving of our prayers.

Brother Warrior, you point out something important. The super rich have needs, just as all of us. They want to provide a happy holiday for all in their families. When their businesses provide a way to generate cash, their mental health requires taking advantage of what is in front of them.

The FTC said in February that Amazon Flex drivers were told they would be paid $18 to $25 an hour, with many statements saying things such as “you will receive 100% of the tips you earn while delivering with Amazon Flex.”


“Rather than passing along 100% of customers’ tips to drivers, as it had promised to do, Amazon used the money itself,” Daniel Kaufman, acting director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, said in February.


The FTC is sending out 139,507 checks and 1,621 PayPal payments to drivers. The average check for Amazon Flex drivers included in the settlement will be $422, but 19,980 drivers will receive checks for more than $600. The highest amount going to a single Amazon Flex driver is $28,000.

Workers need to pay more attention to the contracts they sign. I'm sure there's some fine print somewhere that let's Amazon take that money for themselves.

As Trump asks "Am I allowed to accept tips?" The answer is yes he can, and yes Jeff can too. I'd much rather my tips go to Jeff Bezos than these other slacker employees.

We can see here in this ad that Jeff Bezos is the only driver that matters here, thus all tips should go directly to Jeff Bezos. Yet, the big government thugs under Biden's FTC didn't see it this way.
