I agree entirely Jeff is a genius in business and we are all the better for his ability to crank out more work from each person he employs. But, think of the stress he is under.

His workers in the giant warehouses walk many miles each shift. The worker walks until he finds an item then scans it. Then the walking goes on to find the next item. They have to walk fast on hard concrete floors to keep their jobs.

This results in a lot of worker having foot, ankle and leg pains. Jeff could not have workers limping, limping employees are too slow. So he hired people to hand out pain meds.

The pain meds have worked great but Jeff still must worry. What if there is a shortage of these pills? Or what if the pharmacy companies raise the price? If employees limped he would have to hire more to keep the orders on time. Then he would have to raise prices.

    Jeff deserves our prayers.

Not only that, Amazon is so efficient employees don't even have time to go to the bathroom and have resorted to urinating in bottles.

Bezos is stepping it up again in finding new and exciting ways of whipping workers into shape.

In early 2021, Amazon installed AI-powered cameras in the delivery vans at one of its depots in Los Angeles. Derek, a delivery driver at the facility, said the camera in his van started to incorrectly penalize him whenever cars cut him off, an everyday occurrence in Los Angeles traffic.

“Maintain safe distance,” the camera installed above his seat would say when a car cut him off. That data would be sent to Amazon, and would be used to evaluate his performance that week and determine whether he got a bonus.

“Every time I need to make a right hand turn, it inevitably happens. A car cuts me off to move into my lane, and the camera, in this really dystopian dark, robotic voice, shouts at me," Derek, who asked to remain anonymous because he feared retribution from Amazon, told Motherboard. "It's so disconcerting. It’s upsetting, when I didn't do anything.”

In February, Amazon announced that it would install cameras made by the AI-tech startup Netradyne in its Amazon-branded delivery vans as an “innovation” to “keep drivers safe.” As of this month, Amazon had fitted more than half of its delivery fleet nationwide with this technology, an Amazon spokesperson told Motherboard.

They're called "bonuses" for a reason, because you're not entitled to them.

“The Netradyne cameras that Amazon installed in our vans have been nothing but a nightmare,” a former Amazon delivery driver in Mobile, Alabama told Motherboard. “They watch every move we make. I have been ‘dinged’ for following too close when someone cuts me off. If I look into my mirrors to make sure I am safe to change lanes, it dings me for distraction because my face is turned to look into my mirror. I personally did not feel any more safe with a camera watching my every move.”

“Amazon uses these cameras allegedly to make sure they have a safer driving workforce, but they're actually using them not to pay delivery companies,” an owner of an Amazon delivery company in Washington told Motherboard. The owner said he received no training on how to use Netradyne cameras. “They just take our money and expect that to motivate us to figure it out.”

It's no wonder he's the richest person in the world! He's finding brilliant innovations like these to put more money back into his pocket.

Re: Pray for Less Stress Among the Super Rich

Only poor people need money. All they can do is buy things. Maybe they could make a stone club and break off a bit of stick to poke things with or fetch out grubs or something. Creative people, those upon whom our society is based, don't need to do that. They invent shopping malls (where poor people can buy things) or nuclear submarines (to defend poor people) but before those things were invented, no poor person had the benefit of either.

It is because the super rich don't need to buy things, because they invent them, that a flow of revenue needs to be sustained for capital investment into inventing more things. Sometimes government investment is needed (agricultural policy, aircraft carriers) for the benefits to flow to those who need them. It's appropriate that net beneficiaries (shinier malls, cheaper food, effective military) contribute through taxation to their improved lifestyle: then they will be less poor.

Actual inventors simply invent the things they require. Sure they could buy things too but that is not the purpose of being super rich. Wealth merely represents the resources needed to invent things. And the more they invent the less poverty-stricken the poor become. Differential asset levels between the two groups may be a handy guide to the effectiveness of such improvement. One way to increase that would be for laws governing the beneficiaries (poor people) to be tailored to the concerns of those lifting nations out of poverty (the super rich) preempting any likely collapse of their resource base. Perhaps enclaves (or exclaves) having distinct laws relating to assets, taxation, health & safety regulations (to name but three) would be appropriate?

This may be a silly idea, but I'll throw it out there, happy to be corrected of course. Seems sound though.

Jesus certainly has placed on your heart a fine understanding of what people need, Brother Mayor. I pray President Trump, who by the way got more popular votes than the last twelve presidents combined when you count the legal votes, takes the time to relax on the golf course for real. For the last four years he was constantly interrupted by these Millennial Generationners and Gen Xists and all these other snowflakes whining about problems of their own making, demanding someone rescue them once again. And for the last four years it's been our fearless president. Well, he has earned a well deserved break. I pray Melania can finally let down her guard and tend to him like the help meet she was created to be. That would be nice for Trump. Very nice.

I'm praying that the super rich, especially billionaire Donald Trump, will now in his retirement have time to think of himself. He cannot maintain his youthful appearance and vigor if he is constantly worried about the welfare of others. He must start to focus on himself.

He needs to call his family together and tell them he will now begin a new program of taking care of himself. He will say, "Look, I need my wealth to be happy. I want each one of you to go out and make your part of Trump International more profitable. Up your revenue. Don't show up at another family meeting until you make your goal."

He needs to sit down with Barron, his teenage son. "Barron, either raise those grades or get out," he must say. Only super performance from Barron will make the President happy.

My only wish is he would have started thinking of himself earlier.

I once again reference the parable about fully utilizing gifts. Clearly, it's not impossible to grow your wealth despite an ongoing pandemic. We already gave Americans economic relief, and instead of growing their $1,200 into $10,000 they squandered it and are asking for more money. To me, this shows they don't deserve to have this money because they'll only waste it.
I'm wondering if we could do the opposite of what this article proposes? Maybe every American could contribute $3,000 to help raise the wealth of these billionaires by an additional trillion. That's what would help the economy.
Super idea, Brother Prayer--If this economy is go grow its money needs to be invested by the smartest people in the society. These are the rich. If the poor had the mailing addresses of the rich so money from the poor could be sent directly we would be getting somewhere.

I'm saying we should have a direct wealth transfer, poor to rich, and not do this by government tax and spend.

Wealth Increase in 9 Months Exceeds Likely $908 Billion Cost of Covid Relief Package GOP Has Stalled as Too Costly  The collective wealth of America’s 651 billionaires has jumped by over $1 trillion since roughly the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to a total of $4 trillion at market close on Monday, December 7, 2020. …

The collective wealth of America’s 651 billionaires has jumped by over $1 trillion since roughly the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to a total of $4 trillion at market close on Monday, December 7, 2020. Their wealth growth since March is more than the $908 billion in pandemic relief proposed by a bipartisan group of members of Congress, which is likely to be the package that moves forward for a vote in the next week, but has been stalled over Republican concerns that it is too costly.

The $1 trillion wealth gain by 651 U.S. billionaires since mid-March is:

More than it would cost to send a stimulus check of $3,000 to every one of the roughly 330 million people in America. A family of four would receive over $12,000. Republicans have blocked new stimulus checks from being included in the pandemic relief package.
I'm glad to hear our nations billionaires are managing to endure this storm. During these times of uncertainty, now more than ever they need economic relief.

With some doubting a good election outcome for President Trump, I believe this is an especially stressful time for the Super Rich. They invested heavily in the President's campaign and now may not reap the rewards they pursued with such passion. If Biden becomes President he will tax away the millions they rightly deserve.

All this being the case, a few moments in prayer for the Super Rich would be time well spent.

    Satan is the opposition.
I Peter 5:6-9 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

I'm glad Republicans are addressing the important issue of capital gains tax. Anyone can go to a 9/5 job. Investing in the stock market takes careful long term planning and frugality.

I didn't need to read beyond the first paragraph! Don't executive packages include a car? Surely they're replaced periodically. And the balance was right there in the bank to disburse to employees as required? From the headline I thought he must have dumped it all in Vladivostok and jetted off to Vanuatu to splash it up on Vodka-champagne and the local fauna. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I guess this is what they mean by fake news.

Florida Man who Used COVID-Relief Funds to Purchase Lamborghini Sports Car Charged in Miami Federal Court
Another example of persecution for wealthy people. Didn't these people get the memo that CEOs aren't supposed to go to jail? What could give more relief in these difficult times than buying a sports car? No doubt business owners are particularly stressed worrying about all their poor employees that are going to be out of work. They need luxuries to help them cope with that stress in these difficult times.

I think the middle class needs to tighten their belt during these trying times and consider if they really need these generous unemployment payments when we have stressed CEOs not even able to purchase luxury sports cars with relief funds.
