I read a recipe about cooking soft shell crabs the other day. It was terrifying, and made me change the menu.

The recipe said you put them (I think, I could hardly see through my dialated pupils) in a pot with a lid and maybe an inch of water? LIVE! Then you turn up the heat. The cookbook actually said, "When the frantic, pathetic sound of their scrabbling claws trying to escape dies down, the crabs are done."

Oh, and Mistress Cookie, speaking of gardens (as in the Garden of Eden), I've heard that the Garden of Eatin' (in this case, the Olive Garden...is there any other?) is featuring a special this month of fettucini alfredo with boiled crab.

My mother-- god rest her sole-- used to boil fillet of sole, but in my opinion, it just made it crumbly and bitter.

Dr. E Ville...Since I was talking to a female (JennyD) and not a male, the nature of your response suggests to me that you suffer from an agonizing malady: a tiny ditty. Perhaps you should pay particular attention to those television commercials for natural male enhancement --or perhaps we can start a thread in this forum for all of God's flock to pray for you to attain the peak enhancement you deserve.

Please note that I did not veer from the family-friendly nature of this board as I did not ask JennyD if she had "little ditties."
