    Re: Help Me Repent

Every christian-esque religion follows the bible. I'd rather see what you're actually like, reading a book won't tell me how you generally act and exactly believe. Plus i don't think the bible is the word of god (i'm going to hell for that, right?).

But you've already said you won't read the Bible, how else will you learn?

Free will is the freedom to choose to follow and worship Jesus, or to go to Hell for eternal punishment. That's how it works.

He's only a beagle, cut him a little slack. You know, kinda like how we are cutting YOU a little slack.

Why do you assume the problem is with our reading and not your writing?

It looks like we might have a... dusky gentleman on our hands, Brother Tommy. If you catch my drift.

    A week?

    A whole week?

Friend, a week is nothing. Jesus fasted forty days and forty nights in the wilderness while Satan tempted Him relentlessly with feasts the likes of which your mind cannot conceive, and that was among His lesser sacrifices (relatively speaking). Surely you can last without a Biggie Fries for a less than a fifth of that time, unless you are intentionally mocking Christ. Are you mocking the love and devotion of our LORD and savior? If so, you may be permanently estranged from His saving grace -- and if that is the case, I am thankful to God that I am not you!

    Yes, we are.

We would never dream of questioning God's perfect motives like you do.
As clearly shown in this post by you, what it all comes down to isn't what the Bible says:
It's about the simple fact that you don't want to follow Jesus!
Why am I reminded back to the story of Saul, Agag and Samuel? (Why does it seem I always think of Saul?) (Why am I assuming that BT is also thinking the same thing?)

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Witches are to be killed! Rebellious children are to be killed.

    God rejects the rebellious.

Lets read back a verse, shall we?

22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

When the LORD tells you to do something, you'd better damn well do it. When He tells, he doesn't give options, "you could do it like this, or this or this... " It's either His way, or it's not His way. Which path do YOU follow?

Friend, I can't damn anyone. Only Jesus holds the keys to hell.

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Now, did you mean to say we judge others?

In which case, guilty as charged. (Just as you are) Except...

We are righteous. Can you say the same?

Leviticus 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

I suppose you are going to bust out Matthew 7:1?

    Have you read Matthew 7:2?

If we are ready to be judged by the same high standards we expect for others, then it's not really a problem, now is it?
