    The Purpose of Prayer

I think it is helpful in our Christian journey to, once in a while, step back from the issues of the day and reflect on our over-arching Christian mission. A popular author did this today. He admonished Christians to remember prayer is not a hobby but is the life-line to Jesus. I'd like to add a thought to what he wrote.

We need to remember to pray that God smite our enemies. We do not want homers and trans freaks roaming about without punishment. Add to that the smiting of Democrats and even liberals within the Godly Republican Party. We have an obligation to pray for what we want.

Prayer is not a hobby — its your lifeline

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

A wonderful reminder concerning the One every Christian loves most of all.

But I do have a question. Not about praying to the moon or some hobgoblin dreamed up in a nightmare. It's about the pope. He does "prayers" including The Lord's Prayer, as I understand in Latin which Jesus never spoke, so what happens to those?

    Thank you.

Prayer is indeed a powerful part of faith and helps bring peace, patience, and guidance in daily life. It’s not just a routine but a way to stay connected and reflect on our actions.

In many traditions, maintaining consistency in prayer is important, and having access to accurate timings can really help people stay disciplined.

For those who are looking for a simple way to check daily prayer times, this resource can be helpful.

It provides updated timings and makes it easier to stay consistent. I found it quite useful personally.

Praying to anyone other than Our Lord and Savior is not only ineffective but is also a form of false worship. Catholics and Mooslims may as well be uttering gibberish with an occasional "Satan is the best" thrown into the mix.

The outcome will be the same: An unanswered request and an eventual ticket on the Hell Train.

Great observation, Sister Handmaiden. That this mooselimb's prayers will be answered, a joke. And we're told to face east at specified times of the day? No, we pray to a real God who answers our prayers.

Something being a "tradition" does not mean it's based in reality. More concerning though is the idea of prayer needing to occur at specific times. What happens if a need arises at some other time?
