One of the problems of picking out Bible verses here and there to make a point is that one looses the context of that particular phrase. In your example, Jesus is talking to His disciples. He goes on to say (two seconds later)

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Jesus loves His friends and who are His friends? Those who do whatsoever He commands. Unless you can accurately claim to do whatsoever He commands, as written out in Black and White in the Holy Bible like True Christians™ do, you are not one of His friends, He does not love you, and you are not Saved. In addition, any Bible verse you use to rationalize your own personal watered-down version of the Gospel is readily rejected by those who truly are friends of Jesus. I implore you to read the entire Holy Bible with an open heart, with an open mind, and see for yourself what the Good LORD has to say.
