This is, of course, a purely hypothetical scenario due to the fact that one never knows, the situation might arise.
Well, eh...one of the young men at the Prayer Group we hold, ask me if it would be alright if I, ...could let him know if he could take a concubine since the Scriptures support it, or so we think. He thinks.
The man in question is married already and his wife heavy with child which of course is irrelevant to the case in point so I said I'd ask on his behalf, since he may or may not have had an offer of concubinage from one of the young women in the prayer group, nice girl, saved from an immoral lifestyle by myself and a practising learning and hard-working girl. Anyway, this young man wasn't sure if her suggestion actually meant 'Can I be your concubine?' but would like to know if it's permissable if it were actually the case that this was what she meant.
So Pastors? Can we, I mean, Christian Men in general have concubines without being in sin?
Judges says this:
And when the man rose vp to depart, hee and his CONCUBINE, and his seruant; his father in law, the damsels father, said vnto him, Behold, now the day draweth towardes euening, I pray you tarie all night: behold, the day groweth to an ende, lodge heere, that thine heart may be merrie; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest goe home.
Thanks, I'll pass on any advice to the young guy in question.
