Men, if you are having an affair, don't tell anyone else about it.

In this news article, a preacher went before his congregation to confess he had had an affair some years earlier. He dropped dead, right there on the spot.

It's obvious God did not want him, or you and I, to fess up. The lesson is, keep it to yourself.

It is true. Once you have sinned, it is just between you and God. Once you break that sacred trust, you will never know how upset it will make Him. In the example you posted Mayor Hold, the fellow may of gotten off easy (probably because he was a Pastor).
If I ever did anything wrong, I'd never announce it to the world. That would be like saying 'God Failed'.

I don't understand why anyone--but especially a preacher--would make a public confession like this. Once Jesus has forgiven you, that sin is completely wiped away, just as if it had never occurred:

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19

I don't know how many times I have to say it--you CANNOT trust black preachers. Sure, there are one or two honest ones out there somewhere, but the rest aren't men of God, they're carnival hucksters just looking to make a buck.

While the Bible (KJV1611) permits the title of "Bishop" (Titus 1:5-7), it's rarely seen in Baptist churches. It strikes me that this nigra might have been a bit too uppity and upset Jesus.
