If you bothered to read the many responses on this thread and others dealing with various video games, you will see a consistent pattern of gamers refusing to engage in a discussion regarding the Bible and its authority over our lives--including our pastimes.


Landover Baptist is dedicated to showing the world what is in the Bible. That is our stated mission, and therefore, the "game" being played. However, people continue to storm our forums with extended explanations and recitations of their "game lore", while ignoring ours.


Some people rant, some whine, others detail ad infinitum. A few people can cobble together a vaguely coherent post, the majority cannot.


None of those posts have any value, because they are outside the scope of the game. Being an old person, I don't really know enough about any individual game to come up with really accurate analogy, but I will take a stab.


You are playing Overwatch. Someone comes into the room and starts dabbing at specific items on the screen with a little marker. They are playing a game of Bingo that they hear through an ear bud. This makes no sense to you, and you wish that they would go away or, if they insist, sit down and ask intelligent questions about Overwatch. Instead, they launch into an impassioned defense of the merits of Bingo.


You shake your head and wonder how anyone could be so very, very, dense.


And by the way, little bug, I would be a hypocrite if I said that I loved God and then refused to honor His Commandments by lying, stealing and having sexual relations with another woman, all of which are deemed abominations in the Bible. I'd cite the actual verses, but why go out of my way to detail the game lore of Christianity, something that doesn't appear to interest you at all?

Why should I read anything that you direct me towards? Have you read the Bible? Understanding the Bible is what I care about. I'm not lurking around gamer forums looking to pick a fight. I'm minding my business--which is illuminating the Word of God-- and you barge onto my community's forum and insist that I read something because it appeals to your ego.


Just based on the title embedded in the link, the contents are suspect. I've read perhaps hundreds of gamers' posts here, and the vast majority are painfully inept at expressing themselves. Based on that empirical evidence, I'm not convinced that they are doing their brains any favors by feeding it a steady diet of video games.
