I believe God brought you here for a reason, Brandon. Why don't you start a thread in the introduction forum, as you were asked to earlier, and tell us what church you go to, what your favorite Bible verse is and how you came to find Jesus?
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? I love God.
      I'm a christian.
It's probably why his music was so good.
Satan is very good with music. It's in the bible I guess.
Wow, I don't know what to say.

Morrison's music was good because you love God?

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

You know what else is in the Bible?

No, you don't, because you've never bothered to read the thing.

Ask yourself: would you be interested in discussing the Doors' music and lyrics with someone who had never listened to it? Intentionally didn't listen? Had the chance, was given all the albums in every format, for free, and still said, "No, I'd rather just take what I've heard a couple of other people say and add it what I'd like the music to be about in order to make me feel better about myself."

Would you be having a conversation about the Doors, or would it be about what that person feels and wants, only occasionally mentioning a word or name associated with the actual band in question? If you were looking for information on Jim & Co., wouldn't that be a complete waste of time?

Why not read the Bible and see what JESUS says about those people who claim to love Him, but then decide that finding out what Jesus really wants from them is just too damned much work because, UGGGHH, READING? I'll give you a hint: It's in Matthew, and it's not good.

Hi Margaret, welcome to the forum. The following points were in the O.P., I'll just recap a little:

            William Blake
            Aldous Huxley

Blake's addled existence, just look at his artwork, ended as Charles Darwin (demoniac) kicked off his career of Christ denial. Satan provided a Huxley to assist here, due to the devil controlling Darwin having extreme collywobbles:
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

..which Huxley was Aldous grandfather. In between there was a Leonard:

One of the most ticklish of all subjects to handle at this period was the position of the human species in zoological classification. "It was a burning question in the sense that those who touched it were almost certain to burn their fingers severely." In the fifties Sir William Lawrence had been well-nigh ostracized for his book On Man, "which now might be read in a Sunday-school without surprising anybody." When Huxley submitted the proofs of Man's Place in Nature to "a competent anatomist, and good friend of his," asking him, if he could, to point out any errors of fact, the friend—it was Lawrence himself—declared he could find none, but gave an earnest warning as to the consequences of publication. Here was one of the cases where Huxley's firm resolution applied—to speak out if necessary, regardless of consequences; indeed, he felt sure that all the evil things prophesied would not be so painful to him as the giving up that which he had resolved to do upon grounds which he conceived to be right. As he wrote later (in 1876):—

It seemed to me that a man of science has no raison d'être at all unless he is willing to face much greater risks than these for the sake of that which he believes to be true; and further, that to a man of science such risks do not count for much—they are by no means so serious as they are to a man of letters, for example.
So Aldous got on the stuff as covered in post #1 and I don't need to revisit that here resulting in a book called "The Doors Of Perception" which I'm not going to link to because what THAT produced was Jim Morrison and his pop group, a sort of musical doldrums.

I would say Jim is in hell tho. Because he made the wrong choice. Not because of the drugs he took. But because he rejected Christ.

Quotes need to be backed up with evidence. Evidence. It's a big word. I've forgotten where we came in but in that musical clip entreaties against God are front & central, the singing is in tune and microtonal variations for example at 3:37 generate effects similar to coloratura in operatic roles where a singer has adequate control over the vocal cords. Obviously Jim Morrison does not suffer from vocal paralysis. His precise intonation enables a message to be delivered AND ACCEPTED that would otherwise be rejected.

The message is not hidden. So why hide the evidence? I have not done so here and trust that if I start making claims without evidence, I'll be pulled up smartish. No Christian listens to The Doors. Or Justin B.

But seriously, this is the most demonic song ever written and recorded:

But overall the Doors also have a song with a very clear message: People Are Strange.
Ecclesiastes 5:3b "A fool's voice is known by multitude of words."

Re: The Doors: Jim Morrison's gateway to Hell

I stopped listening at "..kiss me slow," also known as après ski in some circles.

                      Strange
I suppose you're referring to the dreadful song about mescaline, a substance well known to Aldous Huxley whose scribblings inspired the name for this freak show. "Strange" is a metaphor for the world perceived under its influence. Now I can see how someone may wish to become intoxicated. Fallen humanity remains obsessed with altered perceptions and without Christ why should they not? Empty lives need to be filled with something but no concoction whether per laboratory or toxic flora is ever quite the same shape as the void within. And here is the point. How come, knowing they've poisoned themselves, can any perceived doorway be considered valid as an entry point to reality? The whole point of intoxication is to escape reality!
                      When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
                      When you're strange
                      Strange indeed.
