Without learning the languages the bible was originally written you can never truly know if your reading how it was written for sure yourself.
Thus you put your faith in the translators who are men and as I recall the bible says to not put your faith in men.

Well while I am waiting. I would love for there to be a god. I would love for there to be a united christian faith.
But many people get tricked or wanna be apart of something that they make an irrational decision. Then they find unity in a particular group or sect. Weather it be with druggies or religious zealots.
Then once your in and have made that decision you are stuck. You will defend it to no end and when you run out of reason you will defend it without reason.

At some point in the bible god and his kingdom separate from this world and I found this trying to find what I was looking for and this reference here tells me that at this part of the bible in a chronological sense is at a point were he has separated. This is at the point were the war between good and evil. God and the devil is happening. God had to separate from this world. This is why miracles virtually cease. Its in Satan hands now.
If god was interfering I would sure hope people would stop breaking into peoples houses, tieing husbands up, and bruitally raping their wife infront of them for 4 hours. Which just happened to a co-workers daughter yesterday.

You would think they could at least harness their hate against evil, or pagans, or non christian faiths. But they also hate each other.
