God has gone out of His way to make certain that this exact point is addressed in The Bible. Repeatedly. Perhaps when Adam was rejecting companion animals, before sexual reproduction was handed down as a curse, some wistful fancy sprang into being. But when a female human was made from Adam's rib the intended bond between companions pounced into corruption and dreadful lusts unknown to Christians but rampant across heathendom.
