Emo was a label given to people who dressed in a particular way, and later the stereo type of self mutilation was added. Emo in fact was a type of music which was around in the early 90's a completely different style from MCR and has nothing to do with the aforementioned stereotype. Take a look at how he used to style his hair whe he was at his height, long, and shaggy with a fringe. Is there no chance the style could have been taken from his name?

Educate yourself in what the band is really about: there are numerous interviews where the singer states his belief in the Lord, and many more in which he goes on to say that the band promotes life, with undertones that reflect the death that is so entwined in it. We know this.

Treat others with respect. It is not your place to judge, it is the Lord's. He will not be spoken for through any one but Himself, and it is wrong to assume such negative things of others.

As my Sister in Christ has already set you straight on the other issues, I would like to just clarify something here.

I have educated myself on this band and many others like it. It is part of my job to try to understand the teen mindset and get more than a mere grasp of their life view.

You make claims that the vocalist claims to promote LIFE with mere "undertones" of death.

Here we are, discussing amongst ourselves the horror that is "My Chemical Romance", a band which glorifies death with "The Black Parade" and encourages "Teenagers" to strike out murderously against any authority figure telling them something they don't like, a band which most definitely is "Not OK".

We're on a privately-owned Christian church forum.

What happens?
