Well that backward singing, after i watched videos, where people were singing in foreign language (not english) and were subtytled in English (for example "novie goat" in YouTube) i can say that backward singing is much more stupidier then that . Also in a studio version of mcr song "Cemetary Drive", which is about a girl who killed herself, we can hear additional vocals that are singing "don't do it", so this group is against suicide. Also they said that they are not a cult then they were accused of being one by the "Daily Mail" then a girl became emo and killed herself.
Just a quote "emo fans is what makes emo* music suck".

The name of the band was suggested by bass guitarist Mikey Way, younger brother of Gerard, who was working in a Barnes&Noble when he was struck by the title of a book by Irvine Welsh named Ectasy: Three tales of chemical romance.

Very few books on the subject recommend drug orgies on health grounds. They tend to focus on the art angle (an orgy could be seen as an installation piece). The book title brings emotional elements to centre stage and it is the deformed emotions of the drug addled "fan" that concerns us.

The band My Chemical Romance derived their name from this book. Mikey Way, the bassist, saw the book while working at Barnes & Noble in New Jersey.

MCR are some of the most normal people on this planet. they may dress in black on stage or for videos, but that does not make them emo. they voice their opinions. and thats awesome.
gerard in an interview was saying how he saw a girl with cut wrists in the audience at a concert, and he couldnt help but to think it was their fault. so he makes an announcement about cutting. saying it was bullshit and you need to help people out who do that. so thats the kinda of voicing opinion gerard does. if he has an opinion of emo he will say something.
so please do not confuse gerard way for emo. him, mikey, ray, frankie, and bob have saved so many lives. including yours. (your name. lol) gerard way has such a positive look on life, its not even funny.
i do not believe in the trend emo at all. i honestly don't even think its a type of music anymore.i've totally shuttered out that word in my vocabulary. it has no offical meaning.
also, MCR is not emo. and whoever is telling you that gerard is emo, they are haters. stay away from them. if fans of MCR are calling them emo, then they are def. posers.

Also, Gerard was a drug addict until 2004.

Way has struggled with alchoholism and prescription drug addiction for many years and has now been sober since August 2004. In a recent issue of Spin magazine, he said that, having become a happier person and feeling more in control, he has been able to enjoy the occasional recreational drink.

So it's obvious, that even if people would think that this group encourage drug use, it wouldn't be true after 2004 :/ (and they do not encourage drug use) .

I don't understand people telling that members of My Chemical Romance are Christians. Every True Christian will always ask first: What would Jesus do? Do any of you think Jesus would be anything like My Chemical Romance.
