Rev. M. Rodimer: actually, they don't glorify death or worship devil, that would be stupid (seriously). They sing about death to make themselves and other people feel better. For example in one song they are singing that then someone is dying he/she don't want, that others would feel bad about it. Meaning of other song is that you shouldn't feel bad if you are ugly (or you think that you are), you should just be who you are and so on.

About that picture. Well they are dressed black, that's all. As i know emos use purple color too. And emos are cutting themselves. Gerard once said: “You should never want to hurt yourself. Well as i see it, if you are depressed you wouldn't be able to listen to "happy songs". So MCR could kind of keep you with "sad songs" with some hope and later you can go back to happy ones (i don't know how to explain, but i hope you understood what i was trying to say)

Ok, i have read about the suicide of Hannah and i read MCR reaction to it

I do not understand that "cult" thing. There is a diffrence between things you like and worship. As i see it if someone listens to a band, it's because he/she likes it, so it is kind of doing what you want and that music becomes yours (you like -> you listen -> you control it)

Well you quoted lyrics from MCR song "Dead". That song is linked with song "The End".
First of all this is from the album "The Black Parade"

The Black Parade is a rock opera centering around the character of "The Patient". It centers around his passage out of life and the memories he has of his life.

So about the song:

"The End." is more of an introduction to the story, perhaps by the patient himself, and "Dead!" is about the doctors telling him that he's dying. However, they are trying to say that when doctors tell you you're dying, they don't really care. You're just a patient and the source of their pay check. It's exaggerating on how cruel they can be about the fact that you're DYING.

He's imagining what it would be like to be told he was dying. When told something like this the mind thinks all kinds of things. He felt that no one liked him because no one was there when the doctor told him. He had felt like he had never truly loved. Therefore he felt as if he had never really lived and feels that killing himself would be less painful than having to live his last few days in constant reminder that he had never truly lived.

This song could be about a 3rd person kind of talking to the patient. Telling him how he's going to die soon, and how his life kind of sucked anyways, and he never got to do the things he wanted

As a teenager I NEVER thought about those things and NO-ONE ever needed to ghoul-it-up to "save my life" and although I might have "hung around" with a rather "lively" bunch NONE OF US were mental, we did NOT need anyone to tell us not to "harm ourselves" or to "go on living" and I can't for the life of me see how the melodramatic bellyaching of psychiatric patients would EVER be of ANY interest to ANYONE (unless they were getting paid $50 a word to listen to it)..
