Dunno what's going on with Gerard; he's always been a weirdo. He's hiking and writing comics. The Killjoys comic was just released.

They aren't extremely rich. And they split up because they weren't feeling it anymore. Do you think Gerard would have written a huuuuge letter to all of his fans if he didn't care? You know, when they band was at its peak way back in 2008, and they had loads of money and were great and popular? But they didn't. They were here for all of 12 years.

Very few musical partnerships endure - not because they're emotional cripples but because the whole point of playing any instrument is to play with A VARIETY OF people, not just the same ones over and over again. Just a quick glance at any big band (Count Basie, say) or orchestra (Berlin Philharmonic, perhaps) or other combinations such as Butterscotch with Medeski Martin & Wood later this week during the Rigas Ritmi festival in Latvia.

But if someone leaves the ensemble (as they frequently do) or if a solo artist performs in a different environment tomorrow THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT. No-one cries.

Actually, Gerard Way is christian himself. They don't look like that anymore, Gerard used to be an alcoholic and drug addict but he's been clean for a long time. If you listen to their new album it isn't all 'emo' stuff anymore. They've gotten past that faze and their new album is a lot cheerier.

But they were never really emo. The main message they send is to not kill yourself and to keep holding on. They've saved a lot of people from suicide, including myself. They try to make everybody, no matter how alone or different or weird, feel like they're worth something and that it's okay to be a loser. This stupid 'emo gothpunk' rep they have is from people not taking the time to actually listen to their songs or their message.

It is not OK to be a loser. The message you should be listening to is that of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57 will show you that through Jesus we have victory and those who have victory are not losers, are they?

I should clarify that I don't mean 'loser' in a negative connotation. MCR agrees that they're losers to but they accept it. I mean losers in the sense that they don't have a lot of friends or have trouble being socially accepted. I just used that word because they used it in an interview once.
