I've never known an Irishman named Cohen. All Cohens are Jews. Usually when they try to pass, they get a nose job and change their name. Evidently, you have had the nose job. That must have hurt. The name change is much less painful.

I don't know if it's worse to be a Jew or an Irishman. One tribe knew God but turned from Him and smote His son, Jesus. The other is a nation of whiskey drinking rascals who are likely to steal your wallet if you don't watch them. One eats potatoes and the other eats kreplach. Both are vile and unloved by God. Which ever cross you bear, why do you just make it worse by living in godless Canada?

There isn't that many Irish people in my family. Just a few on my dad's side of the family. Most of my family is American. My parents just moved here because of the healthcare. I'm not spastic. I'm perfectly normal.

I have signatures and avatars turned off, but checked your profile page. Genesis is a wonderful book with so much evidence for God's compassion and mercy. Everything He made was perfect. Just look at it now.

I think you have chosen a lovely verse and am glad that you've started reading The Bible. Even on page 1 God is speaking to you. That is a real encouragement

Hi, spazz, and welcome. I think it's a miracle that an Irish Jew such as you wants to read the Bible at all. So you have my heartfelt congratulations! And thanks for asking a great question.

Unfortunately, you can't trust the original texts, since they were written almost entirely by Jews. Only the KJV 1611 has God's stamp of approval. It's much more accurate than the originals.

I'm not a Jew. I'm just a Canadian who has some Irish family members. That's where the name Cohen comes from.

My dad says there's no Jewish people in his family. He says the name Cohen is the English version of the Irish name O Cadhain.
