  • Hi

Hello, I have just subscribed to the forum.

It said I should present myself here.

So I am doing that. I'm called Keven, I'm a catholic. I study mathematics, and I've studied some cannon law and theology (not only catholic theology).

Those are my interests. And I have made an account on this forum because I was in awe at the content.

Honestly I've never seen that much hate in the name of Jesus. Your banner of him speaking the words you put into his mouth, basically Jesus making a joke out of people in hell, is extremely offensive to any decent christian.

You actually have a smiley of a yellow God damned pac-man on a cross? Are you mocking the death of Jesus?

Anyways, I was extremely curious about what is going on here. I have here only to discuss and seek the truth, I have absolutely no other intention. So I hope I can look forward to some discussions.

Did you know there is a Bible verse where God is laughing about the people in Hell?

Tell you what: if you can find it in the next 5 minutes, you can stay.

      Hi Keven,

Nice to have a colleague here. I've also stidied theology. In addition, I've studied the Bible. Really. I was in awe, in fear, in denial, in doubt, in negotiation, in acceptance, in love, in fear.

There is so much in the Bible. It's not up to us to choose which is 'metaphorical' and which is 'outdated'. There is love and hate, fear and jealousy. What a wonderful book.

      Luke 19:27
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

Of course I dare not mock Jesus. I submit to him. Otherwise He'll slay me! He is our Lord and through fear and obedience we might gain His conditional love (John 3:18). You've come to the right place. Here we show the prerequisites of becoming saved, repenting and being Baptized (Acts 2:38). To gain more insight into the totality of the Bible, try Ecclesiastes.

      Yours in Christ,

So have I. It's called ballistics.

If you mean religious writings, I call bullshit. That basic spelling error is only made by those who want to claim knowledge they do not possess.

          Re: Hi

Nothing in the Bible can become "outdated".

But the word of God is dense, and there are many levels of meaning in every sentence. Nothing is "outdated", but sometimes some things are "misunderstood". Do you understand the difference?

Then how do you know if the way you understand it is the right one? You think your church is the right one arbitrarily, do you realize how many thousands of branches of Protestantism there are? You strayed away from your mother the Church and have become free-roaming, lost children, amassing into tribes that you call "churches" yet between you there is no true unity.

You hold the Bible to be the greates authority; yet nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus came to found a BOOK. He came to found a CHURCH, AND THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NEVER PREVAIL AGAINST HER.

The church was here for a millenia and a half before the virus called protestantism started to spread, and now people no longer believe in the Bible because of people like you, who interpret the Bible according to your sadistic and evil urges, and make it look like a book a madman would believe in.

And you are delusional enough to think you are doing God a favor by interpreting his word on your own, without any manifest God-Given authority, and spreading it with your own touch of sickness, making it a book to be joked about.

"Upon this rock I shall build my church"

That rock is Peter and his successors. What you call the Bible did not exist in the first christian generations; what they thrived on was the Church with Peter at its head safeguarding the Faith, speaking in persona christi.

Where is it written in King James Bible that God shall send us a book of any kind? Do you realize that true christianity existed the way Jesus wanted it to exists BEFORE the Bible WAS ACTUALLY ASSEMBLED AS A SELECT SET OF CANONICAL BOOKS INSPIRED BY GOD?

I can't believe how you people actually fool yourselves that within the thousands of branches of protestantism, each having zero authority, you are the ones that are right and the rest are all going to hell? I just have trouble believing it!

I pressed my "n" twice therefore I am wrong and you are right.

That's some nice 4-year-old kid logic you've got there.

And by the way, Canon Law is the church's teachings pertaining to matters of Divine right. It's the moral knowledge that was given by God, his inalterable desires pertaining to human actions.

So it will be useful on a forum filled with people twisting the beautiful moral teachings of the church (Yes the CATHOLIC CHURCH, because it is the church that has selected the books of the Bible and deemed it inspired by God in the first place! The Church decided everything that went or did not go into the Book collection called the Bible! Do you understand that by obeying the Bible, you are OBEYING THE CATHOLIC CHURCH? You consider the books of the Bible as the word of God ONLY THANKS TO THE CHURCH! Please try to realize this! You deserve much better than what you have found in this degenerate church!

Please, young lady, check the concept 'genetic fallacy'. I explained it in more detail in the thread where our pastors have demostrated beyond any reasonable doubt that catholicism can no longer be considered Christianity.

                Luke 6:43
For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

In fact, this verse alone is more than adequate to demostrate the same thing.

I'm a man by the way.

Ok so you are saying that it can "NO LONGER" be considered christianity. That means that at some point in time, it could.

That means that the church about which Jesus himself said that "the gates of hell shall never prevail against it" actually became corrupted? Do you realize what that means? It means that Jesus did not hold his promise, but Jesus cannot lie because he is God.

And even if you were right, and that the catholic church became corrupt: what tells you then, which church is the right one in the thousands of branches of protestantism? How did you choose the baptist church among all the other existing ones? Under what divine authority was it decreed that the Baptists are the true interpretors and teachers of the Bible and that the Church just "lost it's job" as the supreme authority in the faith?

The only church that is backed up by ACTUAL WORDS of the Bible is the one, true, apostolic and catholic church, that started with Peter. All other churches are just men claiming to possess the truth: but only God's word bears absolute infallible truth.

Oh come on don't bring up that ridiculous media BS. Pope Francis has not changed nor has any intention of changing a single word from the church's traditionnal teaching.

All that hype about communion for the divorced, gay acceptance etc. is just things that journalists and the media use to bait you into thinking the church is on a sudden changing binge after 2000+years of unaltered authentic teaching.....yeah right....

More argumentation theory for you, a straw man, as my reply was in fact more complex than 'no longer'. Check the straw man out.

In addition, let go of your premeditated emphasis on interpretation and teaching. We do not interpret the Bible. We take it with its face value as it should. Compare this to your popes. They interpret, oh they do! Example: evolution. 1950's and De humani generis. Given by the infallible pope. Pius XII. Infallible. Took evolution as false. Come the nineties. An infallible Pope John Paul II. Message to the Pontificial Academy of Sciences. "...nouvelles connaissances conduisent à reconnaître dans la théorie de l'évolution plus qu'une hypothèse." New findings instead of the unchanging word of God. Then it was all downhill with Benedict (condemning intelligent design) and the recent statement by Francis. All allegedly infallible. Disagreeing. With each other and the Bible. In contrast, we accept no authority except Jesus and what He has written. Take one of your early catholick theologians, Augustine. De Genesi ad Litteram. As early as around 400 AD succumbing to evolutionary ideas with rationes seminales, riduculing Christians who then tried to propagate the literal interpretation of the Bible. Yes, it is a long-standing tradition. And now it has given the world the diluted theistic evolution that ousts God into the corner in shame.

Please, recognize your biases and read the Bible as it is! We wish to see you with us in Heaven chilling with Jesus.

As for that, find me one official canonical church document where the Big bang and Evolution are denied. I'm not talking about the peculiar sermon you heard 10 years ago done by a half-witted lukewarm priest, or what you read in the newspaper and biased media sources.

I'm talking about the depository of the catholic faith, documents from coucils, encyclical letters, the catechism, and the Denzinger.

You will not ever find it. The reason is simple: we do not believe that God made everything as is, we believed he made a Universe that evolves and that certainly allows for the big bang and evolution. Science and the catholic faith are compatible. Science and whatever the people here believe are definitely IMPOSSIBLE to reconcile though.

Ah, a fallacy. The tu quoque or the indirect ad hominem. Check it up. Basically, you are trying to evade the actual issue of catholic pedophilia etc. by accusing others. You know, even if your claim is true, it does not make the catholic atrocities disappear. Your religion is still responsible for its evil deeds. That's why it is called a fallacy, a violation of rational discussion.
