Hi I am the meek, I am an Anglican (look it up) and I do not live in america but have been there several times. I understand many of your concerns about your country and it's spiritual bankruptcy. Do you think it is because there are so many people obsessed with money and sure of their own importance?

That was not an introduction by any stretch of the imagination. Please tell us your name, age, gender and location. Please tell us the name of your church (even if it is a false Christian Anglican one) and share with us your walk with Jesus.Originally posted by the meek View PostHi I am the meek, I am an Anglican (look it up) and I do not live in america but have been there several times. Wow, your reply was much faster than I anticipated. It seems that I have also aggravated you and one of your members. So to make amends here is a fuller introduction. I stumbled on your site when looking for information on Portugal and found postings from self declared Christians that were both ignorant and offensive. As someone who has been educated in the teachings of Christ from childhood I was fired to communicate with your organization. Mainly because the tone of many of the postings seemed to be written by people who were not talking about salvation, redemption or forgiveness but were talking in a way that seems to be satirizing the very faith they claim to uphold. My personal journey with Jesus has taken me on a actual journey. For the last four years I have traveled Europe visiting the holy places of this great continent. From Lourdes to saint peters, from Santiago de compostella to the paleo Christian baptistry in Naples, and along the way sharing and expressing faith with fellow travelers. It has given me perspective and context into this great faith called Christianity. And I am sure you will agree there is always more to learn.

You still haven't actually introduced yourself. You've merely restated your disdain for the Christian Faith, and those who believe it genuinely.Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Friend, I hope you find Jesus and get to avoid the fires of eternal damnation, but I suspect the idea holds no real probability. You self identify as a grammar Nazi, but your sentence structure, capitalization and punctuation is deplorable. You have said that you are both a Christian and an Anglican. Come now, do you think we are stupid? You cannot claim membership in a false church and then claim to be a Christian. Which is it? You cite all the pagan Roman religious sites you have haunted as "holy places", in spite of the known fact that they mock God and His word. You must be a fool.
Seek ye then the Son of God and make alliance with Him. It's that or Hell. Don't go there; it's too hot.God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11

You know how it is, you are in a public space and you over hear people talking in a way that is offensive to your beliefs. They may be laughing and supporting each outrageous statement with another equally vile quip. What should you do? Challenge them, ask them to stop brocasting hate and ignorance, or do you turn the other cheek and walk away? What would a true Christian do?

Re: america land of the free
I have no doubt that you found many, many posts on this forum that are both ignorant and offensive. You would be surprised how many stupid and rude people come here and post all manner of twaddle. These are the unsaved trash of the world. Many think that being pompous and wordy makes them right. Often these people are nothing but blowhards to whom the rules of capitalization are alien and who think the possessive of "it" is "it's."
By contrast, you should read only the posts marked as being by "True Christians." These posts are biblically correct and perfect and you will learn a lot from them. It's just a matter of filtering the wheat from the chaff.
Now. Tell us in meek but grammatically correct English how you came to find Jesus and exactly how and when you abandoned the evil Anglican lifestyle choice."Come Unto Me. Put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath." (Matthew 19:14, Job 1:11).

Follow the Bible(KJV1611) to the letter as it is the golden word of Jesus.Originally posted by the meek View PostWhat would a true Christian do?
What do you think a Christian would do if not that?
YIC1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

A True Christian™ who has read AND UNDERSTOOD what the Bible says, instead of just accepting what others tell them the Bible says and means, like you do? Let's find out!Originally posted by the meek View Post...do you turn the other cheek and walk away? What would a true Christian do?
This is cribbed from a response I made to another unrepentant sinner (dodn't feel like typing it all out again):
I also know how few people actually understand what "turn the other cheek" really means. If you follow this link, you'll find the verse in question (Matthew 5:39) as it appears in 20 of the most common Bibles in use today. Notice how they ALL specify that someone's hitting your RIGHT cheek. Curious (or telling?), as there is very little else they agree on.
Back then, only the right hand was used for touching others. The left (as is still common in many countries) was used for toilet purposes. If I was to strike you on the right cheek using my right hand, it would have to be a backhand strike. This was the disciplinary method used on slaves and servants, and showed the the striker considered the other to be below them, socially.
By only presenting the left cheek as a target, you would force me to use a forehand strike, with the concomitant acknowledgement of you as my social equal.
Thus, we see that the "turn the other cheek" passage is NOT an instruction to yield unconditionally to any aggressor (as it has been portrayed by many, who either do not understand, or consciously wish to misrepresent, the message of the Bible), but instead is a passive-aggressive way of forcing them to treat you as an equal.

Mr. Meek,Originally posted by the meek View PostI don't dislike the christian faith, I just hate people expressing ignorant and offensive views that appear to go unchallenged. How ever this is me, male late forties and agnostic. Who is a great fan of the roman catholic aesthetic.
Thank you for your contribution. We actually can start building a decent Faith in Jesus based on this. You don't have to like us, you may even hate us as you expressed. But if you don't dislike Faith per se, there might still be hope for you?

Still, there is a step you would have to take. You mention ignorant and offensive views. That is an opinion that is undoubtedly honest but it has nothing to do with the issue. Then you mention the concept 'unchallenged' and, lo, you suddenly hit the bull's eye. This is exactly what Faith is all about. There is the Word of God, the Bible, His Instruction Manual. You may take it as ignorant or offensive but, once again, that is not the point. The point is that you just have to accept it, not challenge it. You can dislike it and God. That is OK as long as you fear Him and obey His Commandments. Glory!
Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
You like catholic architecture, their music, paintings? Again, that is superfluous as evidenced by the above verse! It is not about palaces but about the relationship between you and Jesus. You have to present your body, your likes and dislikes as the sacrifice. He'll accept it. You follow the Word, you don't have to think if the Commandments are moral or immoral but only to fulfill them. And the glorious reward of Heaven will be yours. Fear God! Through fear appears awe, through awe acceptance, through acceptance obedience, through obedience Life in Christ, and through His Temporary Death Life Eternal.

Ephesians 1:6
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Yours in Christ,
Elmer
