I do not understand what's so hard about reading the KJV 1611 Bible? It truly amazes me why people want to talk the talk by saying they're Christian but they refuse to walk the walk by simply reading the Bible?
There seems to be a higher chance of an Atheist reading "The God Delusion" than a Christian reading the Bible. If you follow Jesus Christ, read what Jesus Christ actually said.
The logical is so basic and so simple that we might have to assume malice.

Old Testament morality is dated. Otherwise shellfish would be illegal.

And guess what Jesus says (in the Bible) is still 100% applicable?Originally posted by ConcernedNumbskull View Postthat was from the Old Testament, noob...
Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."
Aaaaannnnd, back to Jesus in the Bible saying you're full of shit when claiming to know what Christianity is about:...Old Testament morality is dated. Otherwise shellfish would be illegal.
Mark 7:18-23 "18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, pan evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."
Read the blessed thing, wouldya? Pretty please, with a crucifiction on top?

That's why I vote Republican. The moratorium on lynch mobs is an imposition on the Christian religion, since the Bible mandates us to kill all sorts of unChristian people, such as gays, disobedient children, adulterers, and wizards.Originally posted by ConcernedIndiviual View PostNo one has the legal right to kill anyone, period.

Dragons could wreck unicorns any day.
But since Christianity speaks ill of dragons (and possibly beholders), I don't think Christianity is for me, especially not fundie Christianity.
So, deism will have to do before I find something suitable (no, I'm not being atheist, no matter how many times Didymus Much tries to preach to me about atheism)

NO, you haven't. You're following a different religion.Originally posted by ConcernedIndiviual View PostIf you're a heretic, you've lost all credibility in your religion...
Absolutely vital, which is why Christianity is so great with its story of an immortal guy who died for two-and-a-half-ish days (then He got better) to absolve us of responsibility for our sins (which are only sins because He says they are) and who will come back (real soon!) to destroy what His followers haven't....Credibility is important for religion...
Oh, and unicorns.
