    Hello dear, and welcome to our friendly forums!

    I too love science, and researching it in any way I can. As a homeschooling mother of many, I've spent many hours on the internet and have therefore learned almost as much about science as any Ph.D. in any field of the subject. As it is my duty to prepare my children for Heaven, not Harvard, I have also learned those things the scientific community would like most people to remain ignorant of. I pray you have an open mind and are willing to look at the evidence, no matter what it says.

    You may be surprised to find how many scientific "discoveries" were recorded in God's Word from the very beginning. For example, did you know...
    • Scientists discovered that both man and woman possess the seed of life in the 17th century, but Moses wrote about it centuries before, in Genesis 3:15;
    • It was discovered in 1650 that the earth is held in place by invisible forces, but this was first recorde in Job 26:7;
    • It wasn't until the 19th century that man discovered blood is necessary for life, a fact written about in Leviticus 17:11;
    • In 1854, man discovered oceans have natural paths in them, however we can read about it in Psalms 8:8);
    • It wasn't until 1932 that man discovered light is a particle and has mass (a photon), something the Bible shared with mankind long ago (Job 38:19);
    • Scientists discovered stars give off signals in 1945, but if they had read the Holy Bible, they would have read about it in Job 38:7, and could have saved themselves time;
    • Scientists told the world in 1920 that oceans contain fresh water springs, but the Holy Word of God had long ago recorded that in Job 38:16;
    • Dust is important to survival, we know because Jesus told us (Isaiah 40:12), but scientists didn't know how to corroborate that until 1935;
    • Hubert Spencer's scientific principles were discovered in 1820, but written in the very first book of Genesis;
    • It wasn't until the 17th century that scientists figured out that air has weight, something Bible Believing Christians had already known (Job 28:25);
    • In 1650, man discovered light can be split up into component colors, another fact recorded in the Holy Bible first (Job 38:24);
    • It wasn't until the 20th century that scientists discovered that matter is made up of invisible particles, but Paul wrote about it in his letter to the Romans (Romans 1:20);
    • The water cycle was discovered by scientists in the 17th century, but had been recorded in the Word of God already in Ecclesiastes 1:7;
    • Job 38:25 tells us lightning and thunder are related, but it took man 19 centuries after the birth of Christ to discover it.
    I am in this forum as I am trying to understand the beliefs of fundamentalist Christians but feel free to pose me any questions about my (lack of) beliefs, but please don't be rude just for the purpose of being rude as that acheives nothing for anyone.
    Atheists don't understand civilized manners, and your intro is no exception. You see, it's generally considered rude to accuse someone of uncouth behavior simply by benefit of belonging to a particular group. As atheists are bigots and hostile against people of faith in general, I forgive you. You've no doubt been raised in a nation that has not taught you the love of Christ and the Gift of His temporary sacrifice. I pray you will read carefully and consider the Good News we have to share with you.

    Oh and I also hate Donald Trump

    Well that's just mean. I'll bet you've never even met him.

        I am very happy that someone on this forum has researched science instead of just binning it on regard if faith, however your knowledge of science cannot be that great if, like many of your contemporaries you disregard things like evolution even though all evidence supports it.

        You say that there are some things the bible had seen before scientists, but this is a bit of a flimsy claim. Yes, some fairly crap references to scientific discoveries were made in the Bible, but the reason scientists do their own, proper research is to find it out properly. The Bible is not true and to base science on it would be silly. Science adjusts it's views based on what's observed, faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved.

        In fact I do understand civilised manners, and for you to suggest otherwise when never having even met me is rude and ignorant on your behalf. I am not a bigot also, and neither is 95% of the scientific community and a majority of people in my country and 90% of those in scandanavia. I am not hostile against those of faith, only when their faith harms people.

        You also say that I've not been raised in a nation that preaches the irrational beliefs of the Bible, you are a little wrong there too. Primary and Secondary schools I attended were Christian and tried to wrongfully ram faith down our necks.

        While I confess to not meeting Trump, I have watched a number of his speeches among other things and found him to be the most racist, sexist, homophobic and plain ignorant person I have ever met. In fact, the main reason I have not been to the US is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump.

          Hello Goldenshark,

          Welcome to this forum. It is lovely to see you indulge yourself in science. This however is a Christian™ forum and the people here might like it if you would elaborate a bit about your choice to forsake verses in the Bible, and why you have chosen to be an atheist. And more important: Why you chose to come here.

          Kind regards,

            How many wetback Mexicans do you have in Scandanavia? How many gangbanging Negro rapper mass shooters?

            Likewise, how many Negro presidents have you had? How many minority government officials? Heck, how many government officials have you had that were not blond haired and blue eyed? Do you really want to play the bigot card? Really?

            Now then, you claim to respect science. In fact you almost sound reverent of it. And yet you openly condemn the Donald without exposing yourself to his habitat, and you make pronouncements without applying anything resembling scientific objectivity.

            Consider this. It is not sexist to call women who are fat, ugly, and stupid what they are. Trump has not claimed that all women are fat, ugly, and stupid. He has called specific women who are fat, ugly, and stupid that. How does stating an observable fact make him sexist?

            It is not racist to say we have an illegal immigration problem when we do have an illegal immigration problem. While Scandinavia may be immune to this because Mexicans can't swim that far, America is not. China built an even bigger wall to keep the Mongols out, but everyone calls that a monumental achievement. The Chinese didn't want the Mongols coming over and robbing them blind. The Donald doesn't want Mexicans coming over and robbing us blind. By holding the Donald to a different standard than you hold the Chinese, you are proving yourself to be a bigot.

            How is being a financial genius ignorant? How is coming up with a solution to stop terrorism and theft in America ignorant? How is finding split-second comebacks to the comments of his haters ignorant?

            No sir, the Donald is neither sexist, racist, or ignorant. The simple truth of the matter is that you, all of the Netherregions, Europe as a whole, and indeed the entire world, are jealous that God has chosen America to be the home of one of the greatest figures in all of human history.

              On the contrary, not only do I have a superior knowledge of faith because I do not dismiss information available, but because the Author of All Creation lives inside me and I have a Personal Relationship with Him. If I am wrong, I trust Him to correct me. Who do you consider to be the better resource, someone who is trying to figure out Creation, or the Creator Himself?

              What's silly is watching Darwiniss pretend science isn't about observation, tests, or repeating experiments. Fairy stories about evolution are absurd, and secularists should be embarrassed to talk about this in public, much less teach it to impressionable children. If evolution were true, I should be able to throw a chicken, onion, and salt block in my oven and wait for it to evolve into a Beef Wellington dinner. But that will never happen because we can observe, test, and repeat such experiments to show evolution is, by definition, not science.

              If Darwinists knew how science worked, then they would therefore reject Darwinism for the exact reasons that I've just stated it.

              While I confess to not meeting Trump...the most racist, sexist, homophobic and plain ignorant person I have ever met.
              This is why we can't have nice things. Secularists who say they study science can't be bothered to remember what fabrications they invent from one breath to the next. They're the most gullible people on the planet, with the possible exception of SJWs.

                      You may indeed have a superior knowledge of the Bible, but I imagine that I have a far superior knowledge of the faiths around the world. I consider scientists who do proper tests to be a much better resource than an imaginary creator whose myths have been disproven by science. Scientists also don't try to figure out creation, because creation did not happen, they do tests to prove what actually happened.

                      Evolution is science becuase is is observable and testable and been proven to be true, and we teach it to children instead of your indoctrinated nonsense is becuase it is true. Your idea of making a chicken meal and waiting for it to turn into a beef one is completely irrelevant (a bit like the bible) to evolution. You are right that the chicken will not evolve into beef for multiple reasons

                      - They have completely different molecular makeups
                      - Evolution does not happen in dead things

                        Those are irrelevant. If you had superior knowledge of Santa's reindeer or Voldemort's genealogy, it would be no more helpful to real life than your knowledge of false beliefs all around the world. Looking into the ancient belief systems of various cultures around the world won't give you any insight into how the natural world works, even if it does offer an interesting glimpse into the ancient culture of long ago societies. Dear Sinner,

                          I certainly hope you make one of your educated colleagues read your paper on evolution before submitting it to peer review as some of the basic concepts within the atheist framework are all over the place when it comes to your ideas on evolution. Chicken and bovines do not have very different molecular makeups. The membrane lipids, macromolecules and reactions of energy metabolism, even the DNA base sequences are remarkably similar between these Created Kinds. In fact, all mammalian kinds and avian kinds share 65% of their DNA, not at all "completely different".

                          Again, based on the atheist theory, horizontal gene transfer is an important part of evolutionary change. While it can be said to take place between living organisms, that is not really absolutely necessary, as it is enough if the actual DNA/RNA is transferred and embedded into the recipient genome.

                          Finally, still according to the atheist theory, thousands of years do produce some variation but speciation within this time frame is unlikely. Obviously, you should clarify your definition of "evolution". If you mean a permanent change in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium and thus a change in the allele frequency of a population (meaning that a gene has been fixed), thousands of years is more than adequate. Regarding speciation, you usually require - again, within the atheist theory - millions of years unless whole genome duplication etc. induces a rapid but permanent block for interbreeding.

                          Dear friend, what is your paper on evolution about? Even if it is within the atheist frame, you could probably use some help. We are here to help you regarding the big picture. You really should understand what you're talking about, both when it comes to the atheist theory of Darwinism and - even more - when you discuss the Bible.

                          Proverbs 30:3

                          We are well aware that in a hypothetical world that did not know Jesus, evolutionary theory would have no competition. If you relied on observations, the evidence would be overwhelming. The transitional fossils between Coelocanth fish and primitive amphibians form the alleged Devonian (Tiktaalik, Ichtyostega) would leave no room for doubt. The transition of the quadrate and angular into middle ear ossicles shows exceptionally well-preserved phases of development. Even the best studies in Creation Science (such as the RATE project about radioactive dating procedures) fail miserably within the hypothetical world that has been abandoned by God. In fact, the RATE study is an important one as it shows the way how the evidence must be harmonized with the Truth™.

                          Basically, the Creation Scientists of the RATE project concluded that the amount of radioactive decay claimed by the secularists (>4 billion years) is the right amount of decay but the decay must have happened within the True™ 6000-year time frame (Genesis 1:1). That is why we introduced "accelerated decay", the rate of radionuclides decaying must have been much more rapid during the early days of the Created world, especially during the Flood (Genesis 7:24). If the decay rate was millions of times higher (it must have been), the Earth must also be young. Case closed. You might refer to a known problem that the accelerated decay would have cooked Noah alive. We do have the answer: the water canopy around the Firmament (Genesis 1:6) protected him somewhat. You might also try to point out that the water canopy would have caused a greenhouse effect that would have cooked Noah alive.

                          Problems, problems, problems... or are they?!

                          NOW it is time to reveal the Truth™. We do NOT live in a hypothetical world without Jesus. We do have irrefutable documentation of His existence and of God's Handiwork in the Bible. If the Bible did not exist, we would have no choice but to believe cosmological and geological time frames and evolution. Fortunately, the Bible is here and it tells us that the observations come second. The Truth™ is not out here, it is in here:

                          Because Jesus has given us His Word and He cannot lie (Titus 1:2), we know that the 6-day Creation >6000 years ago is the Truth™.

                          John 8:32
                          And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

                          NOW we can re-assess the evidence:
                          • The evolutionary transitions must be separate Creations. The genomes have homologies because an Intelligent Designer would use similar solutions for similar problems, such as homeothermy in avians and mammals. Some of the evidence is apparently good an in reality it can be discarded as it represents delusions intended to trick sinners.

                          2 Thessalonians 2:11
                          And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion , that they should believe a lie:

                          Another example, the RATE study. The problems of cooking Noah alive disappear immediately upon reading the Bible!

                          Revelation 19:6
                          And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

                          God can do anything or refrain from doing anything. He can make the radionuclides look as if they had been around for billions of years of accelerate the decay while protecting Noah at the same time. We do not live in a world untouched by the Grace of Jesus. On the contrary, observational evidence is useless unless it conforms to the message of Jesus. This is the starting point of all wisdom and all science.

                          Yours in Christ,

                          Elmer

                              Well, hello Goldenshark.
                              Your name describes a powerful, expensive creature that basically swims and eats. Not worth its weight in gold, for sure - but your soul is. To our LORD, who died for you (John 3:16), you are more important than any precious metal.

                              I was a cathylick until the LORD JESUS CHRIST redeemed me through repentance and baptism. I know what the church has told you all these years.

                              Read the church fathers, they tell you. Trust in traditions, they'll say. Sola scriptura is a Lutheran or Calvinist teaching that will lead you to hell, they'll say. Wake up and spit out the host, hon. It's just a wafer.

                              Get rid of your cathylick bible with its uninspired apocryphal horse pucky about things like purgatory and praying for the dead. Wake up and recognize the power of God's Son. I know it's tough to let go, but I did, and since then, the Holy Spirit has been my teacher and my guide. I can tell my sins to the LORD, not Father Lou who probably was impure with himself as he went over everyone's sins after the sacrament of reconciliation each week. 1 John 1:9 assures me that if I confess my sins, GOD is faithful and will forgive me, and HE will make me clean. Not some self-righteous nosey man in a little booth. Those confessionals would be put to better use if they installed a phone in them.

                              My prayer closet has a direct line to Heaven, and it rings at the Throne of Grace. Jesus told me to ask. He told me He will answer. He told me to trust and obey. He told me that if I will but cast my cares upon Him, He will be there with me, even unto the end of the age. No pope is inflatable, and there is nothing other than tradition that implies there is any apostolic succession. God wants us to be FREE, not under the rule of Rome. Of course, we have to do everything GOD tells us or He will send us to Hell, but that's what we deserve. We don't deserve the grace He pours out on us each and every day. OH, GLORY, the LORD GOD has done such amazing and wondrous things for me since I put my trust in Him.

                              I have added you to my digital prayer list and your rotation will come up three or four times a month. I hope you will continue to learn from the esteemed pastors and scientists Landover has at your service. It won't be easy to let go of the papist trash, but GOD is almighty and will erase that desire from you if you but trust in Him.

                              COME, LORD JESUS!

                              “The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

                              Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.
                              Amen and Amen

                                Your reply confuses me as you seem to just rant on about your ridiculous faith while telling me not to be a catholic. I'm not a catholic, I'm an atheist. Sharks are also beautiful and superbly evolved creatures that need saving however their teeth, fins and livers are worth more than their weight in gold.
