      Re: I'm agnostic

Thank you Brother Gonzalez, that is very helpful. I also would like to apologise for saying that the change in being able to eat pork is "weird". That wasn't the best word to use, and I can see why it was offensive. I guess a more accurate word would be confusing. I guess I just didn't understand why that would've taken place. But thanks to Basilissa, I have been educated on that topic.

I would also like to extend the opportunity to everyone, to ask me any questions on being agnostic. I'm also willing to explain my world view if anyone is interested in seeing how an agnostic views the world.

Once again I just want to state that my point of view on life is not the same as other agnostics/athiests.

I'm quite sure why you changed the subject instead of just answering the question.

          Could you please explain?
You're agnostic about all religions, correct?

So I described a religion, and asked you if you're agnostic about it.

Thank you for the offer, which I am sure is well-intentioned. Personally, I'm not interested in the views of some random person on the internet. I mean, why would anyone care? But others may wish to take you up on this, perhaps.

It's only absurd to you because without Christ permanently camped in your heart, the Truth™ makes no sense. The Holy Bible long ago foresaw that to non believers, the Truth™ would forever look like a clown show of magic, necromancy, and barbaric rituals of cannibalism and Bacchian wine consumption, but of course without the merriment (1 Corinthians 1:23).

                Re: I'm agnostic

For me, being agnostic, is being unsure about what religion is correct. I want to make it clear that I am not saying that your religion is false.

Hopefully this will answer your question:

I do not know if doing what you said will yield the results you said. I highly doubt that if I commit a terrorist attack I will be rewarded in any way. But the fact is that I'm not sure. I also don't know if I follow the Bible perfectly, that I will go to heaven. I might go to heaven, but at the same time I might not. It depends on what the truth is.
The problem is that I personally do not know what the truth is.

But no I'm not going to do something like a terrorist attack for any reason, especially for a religion I'm not sure is even true.

Just as a disclaimer, none of what I am saying is meant to antagonize, annoy, offend, etc.

If I am being any of those things it is most likely due to my ignorance on the topic.

Joanna: Thank you for welcoming me. That's totally fine that you don't care about my view, I just want to put the offer on the table just in case anyone else is interested. And I'm pretty sure my view isn't the same as other atheists/agnostics, because I've talked to some, and their viewpoints were different. Of course they could've lied to me, and secretly they had the same viewpoint, but that seems highly unlikely.

A perfect example is: someone I know, who is athiests, believes in reincarnation. I do not. We also have different views on abortion for example.

I thought other people might want to learn about my views, because I love learning about other people's views. Which is why I'm here

Topaz--We here at Landover Baptist can help you turn your life around and leave behind your life of sin. It will require study and prayer on your part. You would have to be candid about your life, no secret sins you don't want us to know about (Jesus already knows all your sins).

Just let us know when you want to start your new life as a Christian.

Topaz: It's not just hypocritical to pick and choose which parts of the Bible to agree with, it's foolish. There are verses upon verses that instruct those who choose to follow God to obey and even delight in ALL His statues.

So the first verses that the cherry-pickers are ignoring are the ones that tell them not to ignore any of the verses.

You have to ask yourself--how much sense does that make?

After that, you might be forced to ask--how much sense does any of it make?

That is why we take the "All or Nothing" point of view--not because it is fun or easy or popular. But because the Bible itself insists on the same standard. Nowhere does it tell believers to disregard or make up their own minds about anything that God has to say.

When people start winging it, they make themselves God, by claiming to know better than God Himself which commands in His Holy Word He meant and which were some kind of--who knows--cosmic practical joke.

People who take that view of God sure do worship a twisted deity, if you ask me. That's not so much of a false religion as a tragic one.

There's good news even for you, dear! When you decide to put your faith in Jesus, He changes your heart so you don't disagree with anything in the Bible any more! You don't have to wonder if it makes historical sense, or theological sense, or even common sense. It is what It is, and that is God's Holy Word for your righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16)!
