The purpose of this note is to vouch for the mentoring of this forum. I came here a virtual imbecile in the ways of our Lord, blinded by my Catholic upbringing and hungry for knowledge to help me reach Heaven.

Hi .. Welcome to the forum. There is a very simple principle operating in Christian families. It is the relationship of the Husband with God. Remember, God is Jesus and as you look to Him, He is able to save your body (as an individual) just as He saves The Church which is Christ's body. The Bible describes this as cleansing.

Ephesians 5:23b Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

God explains that your wife has a similar relationship, with you rather than directly with Him in this respect. And we know, because He has told us, what that entails for you. There is no room here for opinions or conjecture; the nature of the relationship is spelled out for anyone to read and I'm happy to post the Scripture for reference.

Ephesians 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

That is straightforward for her. Obviously in any Christian marriage there is no place for disobedience and none occurs. Perhaps for couples unequally yoked there's disobedience (such as between a Christian and a new-age earth goddess or whatever they call themselves) but not in this case.

Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

There your responsibility is spelled out. God is not talking about erotic love, which is a thing to hate. Perhaps you could make out a list for her of topics verboten concerning that? In return you sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water and by the word, that you might present her to yourself a glorious wife, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without blemish.

Hi BobbyJ, welcome to the forum.

I always think in Texas as the first line of defense from people who are like me in blood and skin but not on religion. People who do not understand the place God has given us, injuns, which is to stay this side of the wall. Maybe it is because the wall is not finished yet (4 years! Who would have thought!) but most likely is because the IQ of people drops fatally once you cross the Rio Grande. And maybe because most of them do not speak English, so they cannot read the signs warning them off.


Are a man of guns, Bobby? Which ones do you favor? Semi automatic or full automatic?
