    Hello

Hi everyone. My name is Bobby and live in Texas with my new bride Shelly. My favorite verse is Joshua 1:9

We are new to the church as well as newly married. I look forward to talking/meeting with people here to help us learn and grow as a Christian couple in the church. We both have a lot to learn about a Christian marriage and the discipline and obedience that goes with it. We are eager and excited to begin and look forward to meeting those who can help mentor us through this journey.

    Thank you,
    Bobby

    Re: Hello

Welcome Bobby. We are friendly here and we welcome the opportunity to meet and commune with other Christians. Sadly, we are often the target of the wicked who come among us, ignoring our request for a proper introduction and proceed to offer vexations. It is a pleasure to meet a new arrival who can both read and follow directions and write a complete sentence with correct punctuation.

I too am a Texan, born and bred. It is still a godly place, but the rot of papism has grown powerful strong with the arrival of the godless tide of Mexicans, while the cities seethe with an infestation of Yankees and Californians. I have repaired to the countryside to await the return of Jesus (which is soon, BTW) and to amass such armaments as may be useful in the coming struggle.

Please do tell us more of your situation. Is your wife skilled in her duties? What employment do you pursue? What is your congregation? What rifle do you favor? We are hungry to know more.

    God Bless!

      Hello Mr. Moss,

Thank you for your reply and introduction. It's good to meet a fellow Texan so soon! Congratulations on being ahead of the game and your countryside living!

      As for us,
She is very skilled in her "female" duties, however not so much in her wife duties. She lacks the discipline and obedience it takes. We both have to learn our proper roles and be taught to carry them out as it's supposed to be. That is our first journey we feel.

I am in the commercial development/construction industry.

We are seeking a congregation at this time. We've visited a few of the more common ones but haven't found a good fit yet. We'd rather have that good feel than force something that isn't right.
As for rifles, I'd have to lean toward Browning. It's always my go to when I open the safe.

Thank you again for your reply and introduction!

      Bobby

Hello and to our friendly forum, dear! Great choice of verse. It sounds even better when read in context:

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:18 Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.

This is one of many beautiful examples of Biblical stick and carrot: God wants you to be fearless, because He will be on your side when you are fearless, and you will be put to death if you are not fearless. So you should fear the punishment, but also be fearless at the same time. That's the only way God will be with you.

Hello dear, and welcome to our friendly forums! It would appear as if Jesus sent you here just in the nick of time! You see, we here at Landover Baptist Church know all about a Biblical Marriage, how to secure one and how to keep one. You can read all about this from the men's point of view and women's. We can steer you to pertinent resources, and even parental guidance (for when the time comes).

I would encourage you to look at the bottom of each page and note the "TAGS" that help identify and organize each thread here on God's Favorite Church. You can follow those links to other, similar topics. As always, we love a good resurrection around here so feel free to add your voice to the conversation and ask questions in any thread you feel led by the Holy Spirit to participate in!

Welcome Robert. Nice to meet a decent Christian man. So many are queers or some drug addled multi gender.
How many sons has God seen fit to express from your wifes supple loins? How many did God deposit at her feet as a tangled mass of putrid death due to her sin?
I think you will find we are honest and direct. We do not play games and say what we mean and mean what we say. Just as God demands of us.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Hello Bobby and welcome. So your wife is called Shelly? I didn't know that was an actual name - so I have learned something new today.

I see that even though you are newly wed and totally inexperienced, you have something of an obsession with hitting women disciplining your new wife, referring to the matter on three separate threads.

                        Re: Hello

Hi and thank you for your reply.
Yes, Shelly is her name and is a very common name. Although there are many different spellings, as with many names, there are at least a dozen women/girls named that in our small town of just a few thousand.

Yes, all of this is very new to us. We are learning and changing on the fly trying to improve ourselves. We want to learn more of Jesus and more of the Christian way of life. We know this will be a process and not something done overnight. That is the main reason we came here. We want to learn.
The word discipline has many meanings. Some of which involve physical punishment, which I'm learning is part of a healthy relationship. I don't have an obsession with it, but it's something I wanted to learn more about. Thus the reason for posting in various threads regarding this. The majority of the discipline we are searching for is self discipline and spiritual discipline. The help one needs in his own brain to make the right choices every day. We've been living a life where the wrong choices were made over and over and we're done with that. She's farther down that road of poor decisions than I am but we are both fighting those issues.
We came her to look for friends, for help, for mentors and a church home. We want to get our lives in order and live the Christian way under God's rules. We are here to learn, not obsess.

Thank you for taking the time to message us. We appreciate that and hope we can continue to talk and develop a friendship or at least a connection.

                        Take care!

Bobby, if you are living a life fraught with entanglements left over from your previously sinful life, I advise you to give yourself fully to Jesus and shed those woes and worries. From reading what you have had to say about your wife's behavior and your own, though you bring up the possibility that your sin is lesser, I just don't feel you are entirely given up to Jesus.

Bobby, the scriptures reveal that "...the wages of sin is death..." (in the Book of Romans 6:23). There's no sense in going half way with Jesus. This is a serious matter and must be given the consideration it deserves. Your immortal soul is at stake and your wife's too.

                            Mr Moss,

Thank you very much for weighing in on our situation and our decision to give ourselves to Jesus. I agree with what you say. This is a work in progress for us and we are at the beginning. We are working though this daily, hopefully making progress. Thank you also for helping us learn our way though the Bible. It's overwhelming to think of reading it cover to cover. It's much more palatable to read verses or chapters and let that sink in. We will take your advice and begin where you suggested.

                            Thank you again!
