On that page is a Read more button.
By clicking that you'll get the verse (or verses) in context.

Ruth helps me understand how Jesus was related to Jesse.

Isaiah 11:1-2, 8-9 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: and the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD … And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
thank you so much also my glasses are reading glasses but i am not blind
Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

      Re: Hi Im steve

I'm always interested in (have always been interested in) the heraldic bestiary. Before people could read (or most people could read) (but you don't need to be literate to draw a griffon) such creatures represented noble families or mental characteristics or military achievements.

A lion (strength) with a human head (intelligence) and a scorpion's (or other) poisonous tail (to squirt venom over its head for obvious reasons) suggests proficiency in battle, in times gone by perhaps: Julius Caesar + some enthusiastic swordsmen + a great big catapult bringing up the rear

or in a later iteration: mental Napoleon + crazed infantry and/or cavalry + marauding under the umbrella of insane artillery (because eventually someone's going to get sick of that and do something about it)

until: any nutter you like in charge + mini subs with a nutter torpedo + you tell them, "we're more nutter than you would you like a demonstration?" + (no thank you)
      N̷̡̢͍̼͉̠̰͚͓̫͔̳̰͓̭̯̟͘̕U̵̡͓̝̰̲̕͡ḱ͏̴͔͓͇̬̫̦̲̼̤͔̙͇̰͕̻͖ͅ ͅ-̵̧̡҉̥͓̞͍̰̤̰̺̖͓̗̼͔̰̯͙N̛͉͍̖̙͘U̢̬̯̤̳͔̳̼̪͖̘̤̮̪͓͖͎͢ͅͅK̶ ̷̡̰͔̜̟̬̖̟̤̀͠-̷͈̩̦̩̮͕͍̟͞E͏̷̳̹̺̩̟̤

but sometimes nutter is in the vanguard:

In His Bible, God uses allegory in quite a similar way. Abraham had two sons, The Bible explains, one from the bondmaid one from the free which is an allegory. Galatians 4:22-26

An allegory can be real and symbolic at the same time. Griffons perhaps less so. What is your method of distinguishing between the two? Is Christ's love also an allegory?
